As a
Teacher
Sanjoy has proved himself
as a teacher with thorough understanding of the music pedagogy. As a result he
could successfully presented a number of disciples those are making a stamp on
the music listening public.
Foremost among them is Sh. Kushal Das. Kushal who is
steadily coming up as a leading sitar player of the current generation. His
sitar is getting acclamation both in India and in Western countries. Recently
Ocora, Radio France has produced his CD.
Sh. Siddhartha Mukherjee [Sitar] a recipient of National
Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, a
promising sitar player
Miss Pragya Pyasi [Sitar] has also received National
Scholarship from the Ministry of Tourism & Culture. She also won
National Inter-University Music Meet held at Banaras Hindu University.
Pioneering activity in allied fields:
Sanjoy Bandopadhyay put in pioneering efforts
for the introduction of Computer Music & Music Production in India.
He worked as Project Initiator & In-Charge and the course is to
start very shortly at the Indira Kala Sangeet University. The project design
was done in collaboration with Dr. Bernard Bel, Bernard Bel <[email protected]>

at the 20~22 September 2001 Seminar titled Sonorous Texture / Netcasting and Distance
Education in Music at Kuhmo, Finland by Sibelius Academy [sponsored by the Finnish Academy
of Sciences]. He also lectured and did presentations on
Indian Music at the Jyväskylä University, Kuopio Music Center and Sibelius Academy,
Helsinki.

- Worked as the Project
Initiator for initiating courses in Computer Music & Music
Productions at the Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh; a
pioneering program in this part of the continent. The project design has
been completed in collaboration with Dr. Bernard Bel, Laboratoire Parole
et Langage, ESA 6057 CNRS, Université de Provence, Aix-en-Provence,
France; Prof. Richard Karpen, Director, Center for Advanced Research
Technology in Arts & Humanities, University of Washington, Seattle
(USA) and Prof. H.V. Sahasrabuddhe, Head, Department of Computer Science,
University of Pune, Pune.
- Collaborated with Ustd.
Allauddin Khan Sangeet Academy, Government of Madhya Pradesh in main frame
planning and follow-up executions for the International Seminar on
"Distance Education in Music" [27-29 Nov., 2000]. The Proposal
Paper of the Seminar was prepared and read on the opening day.

Music
Instrumentation research and
development project at the Department of Instrumental Music, Rabindra
Bharati University. This project is aimed at scientific standardization of
Indian musical instruments. The project will run in collaboration with the
faculties of the Department of Physics & Meteorology, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur
and Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jadavpur University.
- A seminar titled Career
Orientation of Music Curricula: Objective, Content & Implementation
[25-26 February, 2002 at Rabindra Bharati University].
- Working on the initiation
of Music Management program, a pioneering effort in this direction in any
university in India, at the Department of Instrumental Music, Rabindra
