| Against her will, she had drifted off to sleep on the boat. She had fought off sleep for so long, and now it was catching up with her. And the gentle rocking of the boat on the waves, was not a help in keeping her awake and focused. Wanting to hear where they were taking her and what was to become of her, she forced herself to rest a bit but still listen. When she woke, she found herself in different surroundings. Her blindfold was off and she was lying on her back, on a huge fluffy but firm bed. Sitting up, she looked about. No pictures, no windows, no chairs or anything, just a camera on the ceiling and a door- locked, she betted. I must have been more tired than I thought. Damn! Out of one prison and into another. She hopped off the high, but unique bed and checked herself. Her light blue khaki pants were still in tact, as was her white t-shirt that only went down to her waist. Her shoes, on the other hand, had been removed and placed beside the bed, leaving her in her white socked feet. Smoothing out her hair, and stretching her stiff legs, she walked to the blank door and put her ear to it. She listened for any movement, but none was made. No sound at all. It was as if they had left her there. Or, perhaps, they had taken her back to her original prison. The light in the middle of the ceiling, was way too bright for her newly awakened eyes. She squinted to look about. When they all were back and accounted for, they met in the den, to observe her actions on the monitor that was connected to the camera in her room. They discussed what they would do and what would become of her. "Heero, we can't eliminate her until we know why they wanted her in the first place. It wouldn't make any sense at all if we rushed through this." Quatre spoke, replacing his tea cup to the small saucer in his lap. "He is right, Heero. But, at the same time, she could be with them and have the upper hand. It won't matter if we keep her in that room or not." Trowa stood behind the sofa, with his back to them and arms folded, not looking at them. Duo, who was sitting in a chair, away from the group- listened quietly. His arms folded across his chest and his legs out-stretched and crossed at the ankles. Noin had come to stand behind him and was massaging his shoulders, gently. His head hurt and he was weary from the night before, but was still awake and alert. Silence filled the air for a brief moment. The faces on all the pilots spoke of weariness and uncertainty. Their minds were filled with questions that only their rescuee could answer. However, none of them made the forward motion to approach her. "The terms have been set and we have gotten her away from OZ. Why they had her, is beyond me. I want something to close this case with. Someone spent alot of time putting her in that secluded prison, my question is WHY?" Wufei spoke up from the chair across from Quatre. He had been sitting there, listening to the others voice opinions about her and what to do, for the last hour and a half. Noin stopped massaging Duo's shoulders and gave him a light pat before she announced to the room that she was going to greet their new guest and make her feel welcome. "Besides, she isn't going to go completely crazy. Perhaps, she just needs to relate to someone right now. maybe she's hungry." Kissing Duo's cheek, she hurried out of the room and off to the kitchen to fix something for their guest to eat. Heero twitched. There was something about her that he didn't like. Aside from the fact she was another woman whom needed rescuing and now that she was rescued, she didn't have a place to be. The look on his face made it clear to everyone that he didn't like that idea at all. "I think I will go up and get some rest. Someone call me when food's on." Duo, lost in deep and serious thought, got up and headed for the door. "Something is bothering him. Ever since he came back from the prison, he has been acting like he is lost in another world." Trowa acknowledged. Quatre looked at Heero and studied him. "Heero, has something been eating at Duo, when you two are alone? I mean, it's not my place, but does he act differently when he is just around you in your room? Did he say anything to you after we got back?" Heero stood still, staring out th open double doors and waiting for Duo to come back in, smile and laugh and say, "Just Kidding". But, he didn't. Wufei snorted, "Maxwell has always been not completely there. He is just in a mood that is trying to get attention. Perhaps, his 27 years of clowning has taught him something. Whatever has gotten in to him, let's hope he learns from it." Quatre and Heero both frowned and looked toward Wufei. "I'm going to keep an eye on him. His mood has gone on long enough. Something HAS to be wrong. He hasn't even done his repairs on DeathScythe. Hnn, if something is wrong with him, I want to be the first to know." Heero snorted. He wasn't about to let Duo's meloncoliness plague the God of Death the way it did, for long. Got to 3 Sorry so short...... I will be adding more to all the parts soon...... |
