Chapter Two
The Fae and The Birth of The Foel

"You humans use the words fairy when you speak of JyM’s first children, and they are indeed fair.  Golden hair, shimmering wings, sweet melodic voices; the first-born are the most beautiful creatures on Gaia. They began to wear flowers in their hair, and gems around their necks and pierced through their ears.  The splendor of these objects pale to the warmth and loveliness of the Fae.

The Fae have a lighthearted personality, for the most part, and they enjoy laughing, singing and playing with the other creatures of Gaia.  They spent their first years on Gaia, without mankind, in bliss, learning to meet their simple needs with the guidance of our maker.

However, the simple life of the Fae was changing.  The first born soon realized that they had received an unexpected gift from JyM.  The gift created a slow change in the Fae, one that only the cleverest among them noticed first.  It was Aura who could fly faster than any other winged creature in the sky, 'see' a place that was no where near their home, think of something and have it materialize.

Aura kept most of this to herself for a very long time and experimented with these gifts.  She didn’t know that she was envisioning a completely different land of Gaia, two thousand miles away: A place that was too far for a Fae to fly without becoming tired, needing to rest several times on the way; a place that could not be reached in one continuous flight.    Until one morning, Aura decided to find that place that she could see so clearly.

Aura was back from her trip before the other’s missed her at the mid-day meal; her wings were

not torn from the wind, neither was she out of breath. She kept all she had seen and heard to herself

as she sipped the sweet nectar tea and nibbled on her veggies.

She thought about the first time she was frightened when she was thinking of a ‘cushioned seat with four legs and a back’ and then, there it was in front of her!  When she thought it would be nice to see a reflection of herself in a ‘framed glass’ and, when such a thing appeared, she nearly jumped out of her wings!  However, now Aura knew that this was a good thing as she tried not to be so surprised when it happened.  Instead, she taught herself to control her thoughts to create objects with a purpose.

It didn't take very much practice for Aura to control her magic.  Soon she was simply amazed at what she could think of and create without much hesitation.  Simple objects at first, but she knew her powers would grow.  But, how was all this possible?

And, then Aura knew, because the time came when other Fae began to talk about how they could do the very same as she.  Yet, not all of the first-born were able to fly quickly or, have visions of places not seen by the eye or, create objects simply by thinking.  No, Aura realized that only the Fae who spent more time directly in the physical presence of JyM were able to accomplish these amazing achievements.

In addition, only these same children began to change physically.   Aura was the first, then followed Coral, Tangy and Apricot.  It didn’t happen over night, but one day, Aura’s wings were completely blue.  In fact, everything she placed against her body---her clothes, flowers, jewelry---would also turn blue.  And even when it happened to the others, Aura kept secret what she thought made this happened.

Then, one day, suddenly, Aura gathered the Fae together.

She said, 'Sisters. Coral, Tangy, Apricot and I have evolved past you.   You are still in the beginning stage of our life and have not experience all the joys that our Goddess has to offer.   We are no longer the same as you, inside or outside. We are better than you because the Goddess JyM has blessed us. We are your superiors and I will no longer be known as Aura.  I am now Crystal.'

The small audience stood stunned, staring at Aura.  No one knew what to say or do.  Then, Coral stood forward and away from the others, closer to her Blue sister, Crystal.

'And I am not Coral,' she said. 'I am Beryl.'

      'And I...'

It was Tangy speaking now.  She hesitated, looking at the faces of each Fae, unsure.  She searched their eyes for any sign of resistance.  Certainly they are not excepting what Aura had said?  They are all the same, weren't they, really?  They are all Fae, the Children of JyM.

Finally, Tangy looked into the last eyes, the eyes of Crystal, and saw what she needed to see.

'And I…I am no longer Tangy.  Call me, Cyana.'

Everyone’s looked toward Apricot who did not falter as she said,  'I am whom I should be.  I am Nite.'"
