| I'm gonna tell how I got saved, but I am not going to make it long. OK. It was November of 1999, and I was eleven at the time. Peter Ramsay and Peter Orasuk were having meetings at Blues Mills Gospel Hall.I had had a false profession before, and was still holding on to it at that point. It was about a week or so into the meetings and after hearing them preach the gospel every night and telling how a person comes to Christ, I knew I was not saved. I ignored it for a couple days, but then on Sunday night I knew that I had to get the matter settled. I thought about it all meeting, trying and trying to believe, but not understanding how. Finaly, I said to myself, I need to get it before this meeting is over. The preachers got down, and the closing hymn was being sung, and I still hadn't figured out a way to believe. I could not sing, but stumbled through the verses of the hymn, hoping noone would realize how concerned I was. I was just getting up out of my seat, when the thought came to me, "Christ died for me!" That was the moment that I really realized and appreciated Jesus's work on the cross for me! It was so simple! I just had to believe! I hope, if yur not saved, that you will have a time when you believe that Jesus died for you! For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 |
