Part Two: The Hunt Begins "My name is Rod Hill. I'll be the lead investigator on this case." The detective introduced himself to Ms. Crabtree. The classroom was empty, except for the two of them. The principal had dismissed classes early. All the children had gone home. Hill was an attractive man. He was 32 years old, but looked much younger. A tall, muscular man, that reminded Ms. Crabtree of Samuel L. Jackson. In fact, Ms. Crabtree was dying to get her hands on this sexy lead detective. "If there's anything I can do for you, Det. Hill, and I do mean ANYTHING, just let me know," Crabtree said, giving Hill a little wink. Hill smiled. "You can show me where TheNewKid's locker is at." Ms. Crabtree took Det. Hill out into the hallway and to TheNewKid's locker. Hill jimmied the lock and looked inside. "Well, well," Hill said. "Look what we have here." Inside TheNewKid's locker were six textbooks, one empty backpack, a copy of Penthouse magazine, and a lunchbox... which was filled with heroin. MEANWHILE Silent Bob had to be one of the stranger students at school. he never spoke a word, but somehow he managed to stay popular. Something traumatic happened to him when he was a child and hasn't uttered a word since. Suzanne and Silent Bob weren't friends, so it came to her surprise when she saw him standing outside on the sidewalk, right outside her house. He was motioning for her to come out. Suzanne slipped on her sandals and went outside. "What is it, Bob?" she asked him. Silent Bob said nothing, but handed Suz a note. She read it, not believing her eyes. The note said... --The note Blowfish ate wasn't the real note. It is in TheNewKid's desk.-- Suzanne wasted no time. She grabbed Silent Bob's arm and the two of them took off running to the school. MEANWHILE ACROSS THE TRACKS The Tainted Taints were at the secret clubhouse celebrating their early release from school. Axlotl had managed to score them a couple of six packs and Tiama served blunt, after blunt, after blunt. Not only were they celebrating getting out early, but they were also celebrating Axlotl's new evil plan to get rid of Suzanne. "Here's the deal," Axlotl told them, "I'm going to get someone to plant some drugs in Suzanne's desk. I'll call the principal and leave an anonymous message that Suz's dealing drugs on the playground." Clot was confused. "But why, Ax? Why do we gotta mess with that snobby bitch?" Tiama slapped Clot hard across the face. "You stupid ass!" he yelled. "The police are going to be searching TheNewKid's shit. They're going to find the heroin, if they haven't already. They'll be asking questions. They'll wanna know where the drugs came from. I won't go down, just cause some stupid new kid got himself offed." TheDeuce shook his head. "I don't like this. Suz is the most popular girl in school. No one will believe she's dealing drugs." Axlotl smiled. "That's exactly the reason people will believe it. Why is she popular? 'Cause she's selling smack to the cool kids." " Who's gonna be the one to plant the drugs on Suz?" Clot asked, rubbing his swollen cheek. There was a knock on the clubhouse door. TheDeuce opened it, finding Crackwhore standing outside. She looked bad. Real bad. Her body was twitching. She had a crazy look in her eyes. "Deuce, get Tiama. I need some rock... please." Crackwhore stumbled into the clubhouse. She didn't care much for The Tainted Taints, but Tiama had the best shit in school. Crackwhore is the leader of another gang at Benjamin Franklin. They're known as The Nasty Bitches. Members include, short tempered PsychoHo, continual PMS sufferer PsychoBitch, Roxy96 (who smells like boiled cabbage), lesbian-goddess Crackbaby, CTY Skank the call girl, and Beans (the retarded kid.) "How much rock you want?" Tiama asked her. "Whatever you can spare," Crackwhore answered, "but I don't have any money." Tiama burst into laughter. "You crazy crackhead. No dough? No blow." Crackwhore became hysterical. "Please! Just a little bit! I'll do anything you want! Anything!" Axlotl put his hand on Tiama's shoulder and smiled at Crackwhore. "I think something can be arranged." Ax laid out the deal to Crackwhore. He told her that if she'd plant some heroin in Suzanne's desk, that the gang would give her all the crack that she could ever want. It was an offer Crackwhore could not refuse. MEANWHILE The police were waiting for Blowfish when he arrived home. Blowfish walked into his bedroom to find Det. Hill and two other officers going through his stuff. Ms. Crabtree had told Hill earlier about Blowfish disappearing after recess and that he had written TheNewKid a note just before he died. Blowfish was about to make a run for it, but Det. Hill tackled him down to the floor. "I didn't kill him!" Blowfish screamed, trying to kick the detective off of him. "I swear I didn't!" Hill took Blowfish's backpack off him and looked inside. The bag was filled with empty lollipop wrappers... and a small, blue spiral notebook. Hill opened it, reading the first page. --This is the diary of TheNewKid. Stay out! -- "Blowfish, you're under arrest for the murder of TheNewKid," Hill said, taking out his handcuffs. Blowfish howled and made a run for it. He only made it a few yards, until there was the sudden sound of a gun shot. Blowfish dropped to the floor. The bullet had hit him in the chest. Blood was everywhere. One of the other officers in the bedroom had drawn his gun and fired at Blowfish. Det. Hill looked at the officer in disbelief. Blowfish laid on the floor, in a pool of his own blood, slowly fading into unconsciousness... BACK AT THE SCHOOL Ms. Crabtree always forgot to lock the classroom windows. Suzanne used this little bit of knowledge to her advantage. Suz eased herself through the window sill, while Silent Bob kept watch outside. She immediately went to TheNewKid's desk. Silent Bob was right. Inside the desk was the crumpled note. Blowfish had eaten the wrong one. The note read, "$300 or I'll tell the whole school EVERYTHING!" Was Blowfish blackmailing TheNewKid? If so, what did Blowfish have on him? Suzanne wished she knew what the note meant. The sound of footsteps were coming down the hallway. Someone was coming. And they were close. "Oh shit," Suz thought, "I got to get out of here." Only she couldn't move. She was like a deer. Frozen. Caught in the headlights. TO BE CONTINUED... Next Time on Murder on the Playground: The secrets of TheNewKid's diary are revealed. Suzanne meets the man of her dreams. Crackwhore goes to work. |
