Close Encounters on the Playground
By AudreyHorne
  "They're coming.... They're coming...."
Audrey couldn't get Sweet One's words out of her head.  In her vision of  Suzanne's death, a face had appeared in the sky above the playground.  The face had said the same words as SweetOne.
   "They're coming."
Audrey pushed the thought out of her mind.  Now was not the time for her to be worrying about her silly visions.  SweetOne needed her full attention.  After Sweet collapsed on the porch, Audrey carried her up to her bedroom and promptly put her in the bed.  Sweet was conscious, but barely.  She mumbled when she spoke and had a vacant look on her face.  Sleep soon crept upon her.  She awoke 12 hours later.
   "What happened?'  SweetOne asked.
Audrey was sitting on the end of the bed.  "I was just about to ask you the same thing.  Where have you been?"
"I dunno," Sweet replied, looking confused.  "I just remember waking up in the football field at school.  How long have I been gone?'
"Over two weeks, sweety.  We didn't know what had happened to you."
"TWO WEEKS!" Sweet cried, bolting out from under the blankets.  "I was gone for two weeks?"
Audrey grabbed SweetOne hand and brushed the hair out from her face.  "Calm down now.  You can't afford to get upset.  Save your strength.  You don't remember anything from the past two weeks?"
"Nothing.  The last thing I remember is playing pool with Psychoduck.  I went to the bathroom and then I looked out the window.  I could see the school down the street.  There were lights in the sky above the school.  I went outside to see what it was.  Then.... then.... I dunno.  I can't remember."
"Did Psycho do something to you?  Did he slip you something?"
"Heaven's no!" Sweet exclaimed.  "He's a sweetheart!  He wouldn't do anything like that!"
Audrey wasn't too sure if she believed that.  Psychoduck gave her bad vibes.  She wanted to question Sweet more about Psycho, but she didn't want to upset her any more than she already was.  Audrey decided to drop the subject.... for now.
"How are you feeling?" Audrey asked.
"I feel a bit lightheaded, but I think I'll be okay."
"Well, I'm taking you to the doctor today.  We need to see if something's wrong with you.  We should also call Detective Hill and let him know that you popped back up." Audrey said.
"Ok, Aud," SweetOne said, hugging her around the neck.  "You're a good friend
"You too, sweety.  Now, let's get you dressed.  I want you at the doctor ASAP."

Meanwhile......

Blowfish was in his bedroom playing video games.  He was relieved that the weekend was finally here and that he didn't have to go back to school for two whole days.  His classes were tougher than they were at Ben Frank and the over population of students at the new school made for some stressful times.  He had called Suzanne and asked her to come over and play video games.... and maybe make out a little.  Suz said that she'd come over later in the afternoon.  Suz said her friend Kedra had called her and asked to meet her for lunch at noon.  She'd stop by after that.
A loud noise came from outside.  Blowfish looked out his window and saw a moving truck pulling into the driveway of house next door.  The house had been put up for sale.  Blowfish looked over at the reality sign and saw that it was covered by the words "SOLD" in big red letters.
"Aww, this must be the new neighbors," Blowfish thought to himself.  "Lemme check these people out."
The doors of the moving truck opened and the new family got out.
The father climbed out of the truck, followed by his wife.  They looked like a lovely couple.  They were very well dressed and appeared well mannered.  Blowfish looked to see if the couple had any kids.
They must have children, Blowfish thought.  That house is way to big for just two people. Plus, this was a family neighborhood.  Almost every house on the block had at least one child in it somewhere.
Sure enough, a little girl hopped out of the truck.  She had the prettiest curly red hair with lots of bows.  She looked familar to Blowfish.  He had seen this girl somewhere before.
The girl turned and saw Blowfish staring at her through his bedroom window.  A huge smile spread across he face.  She began to wave.
   Blowfish remembered the girl now.
   Her name was Strawberry.
   It was Blowfish's ex-girlfriend.
Blowfish was in total disbelief.  Strawberry and her family had moved away a long time ago.  He never expected to see her again.
Blowfish started to wave back, but hesitated.  He had Suzanne now.  He had no room in his life for ex girlfriends.  He was about to pull the shade down, when he saw Strawberry running toward his house.
"No!" his mind shouted, "You can't see her!"
   Seconds later the doorbell rang.
Blowfish couldn't just not answer the door.  She had seen him in the house.  His mind told him over and over not to answer the door, but his heart told him to open it.
He was scared that if he opened that door and saw Strawberry standing there that all his old feeelings for her would come rushing back, making him forget about Suzanne.  He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to control himself.
Fighting everything his mind was telling him, Blowfish opened the door.
"Hey there, sexy!" Strawberry greeted, throwing her arms around Blowfish.  "I'm back!  I'm back home!"
"Yes, you most certainly are, " Blowfish replied, hugging Strawberry close to him.
