Whoever was holding the camera stopped.  Ramona watched intently as the camera slowly panned to the left, zooming in on one of the doors in the hallway.
On the door was a small poster of a kitty cat that was hanging on to a screen door with it's claws.  The caption read:  Hang in there, kid!
Your average person wouldn't be terrified of such a cute poster, but when Ramona saw it, she almost came unglued.  Just two weeks earlier she had hung that very same poster on the door to the Newspaper Room.
Ramona realized that the camera was right outside the classroom door.
The computer chimed again, startling Ramona.  It was another instant message.
This one read:
  Neil A. - I AM COMING!

Ramona jumped out from the computer.  She looked through the window, out into the classroom.  The door to the Newspaper room slowly creaked open.
Ramona screamed.
Ramona grabbed the computer chair and and put the back of it against the door and under the doorknob.  Naturally, there weren't any locks on the door in the Layout Room.  It prevented students from locking themselves in, the very thing Ramona needed to do.
Ramona crawled underneath the space under the desk.  Her heart raced.  She had never been this scared before in her entire life.  Someone, or something, was outside in the classroom.  And it was coming for her.
The doorknob slowly began to turn.
Ramona had to bite her tongue to keep from screaming.
Suddenly, something slammed hard against the door.  The door would have busted open if Ramona hadn't had put the chair there.  The banging continued, but the chair kept the door closed.
Ramona couldn't hold back any more and screamed bloody murder.
The banging stopped.
All was quiet.
Ramona didn't know what to do.  She didn't know if she should come out form under the desk, or if she should stay.  She didn't know what was out there in the classroom, but she didn't really want to find out.  So, she stayed very still.  She hardly even breathed.
All was quiet.
All was still.

Then Crassssssshhh..... a student's desk comes flying through the window.  It slams against the wall and lands atop the computers.
Ramona made her move.
She pulled the chair from in front of the door and swung the door open.  She made a run for it.  She dashed through the classroom, not even looking to see who or what was inside.  Ramona found herself running down the hallway.  Something behind her gave a growl so loud, it shook the hallway.  She dared not to look behind her, fearing if she did it would get her.
She had to get to the double doors at the end of the hallway.  The playground awaited on the other side.  The beast couldn't get her out there.
Ramona ran has fast as she could, but to her it seemed as if she wasn't moving at all.  The lockers suddenly burst open.  As she ran, the contents of the lockers would shoot out toward her, knocking her in the head with textbooks and tennis rackets.  Ramona tried to dodge them, but there were lockers on both sides of her.
She was almost there.  There door was only a few feet away.
The thing chasing her was catching up.  It was right behind her.  Ramona could feel it's hot breath on the back on her neck.
Ramona burst through the double doors and out into the playground.  Whatever had been chasing her hadn't followed her out.  Ramona stopped running and caught some air.
The playground was empty and dark.  Ramona could barely see.
But then, up in the sky, came a light so powerful, it almost blinded her.  Hovering above her head, up way in the sky, was a magnificent space ship.  The ship shined it's light down upon Ramona, engulfing her with it's power.
Ramona became one with the light and was transported onto the ship.
The space craft turned off the light and disappeared into the midnight sky.
