Lets go through this step by step. Cleaning and preparing ritual space is VERY important. if you have a temporary altar at home i.e dining table, then the energies around it may not be pleasant, someone may have argued around it or carried negative problems in the area, and you need to cleanse the area of anything unwanted. Even if you have a permanent altar and shut it away, dust can still remain. You need to do this procedure everytime. The tools that you will be using will also have to be cleansed. Info Here.
Preparing yourself consists of the same thing. if you have been working all day, or studying, you may have worries or thoughts that need to be kept away whilst working magick. As it will interfere with you workings. Its best to have a Ritual bath. Light some sandalwood incense and some candles as you run a bath. in some cheesecloth of muslin, or cotton, place some purifying herbs in the middle of the material, then tie it up. place in the bath with you and let their magick cleanse you. Relax, and clear you mind of any thoughts, think about the reason for your ritual. For info on herbs.
Setting up the altar is literally that. You place all the tools in the right place and set up the candles, the circle(thats if you need something visible to remind you of the boundaries.), and everything where it needs to be.
Invoking the Elements in calling on them, asking the to attend your rite. Info on invoking of deities and Elements are HERE.
Magical workings and main ritual are the actual reason for doing it. For E.G, If you were doing a spell for prosperity, here is where you start your workings for it, or if you were doing a full-moon ritual, you would start your ritual here.
Here is where you consume the energy you have raised for this ritual, you share you meal with the deities and thank them for providing it.
This is where you thank the deities for attending your rite.
This is where you thank the Elements for taking part.
This is where you open the circle or you sacred space. (When you create sacred space, you use your energy to create a protection bubble around you. Letting nothing in or out of the circle. Do not walk out of the circle unless important and you cut a door using you athame and open like curtains. (You re-seal once you have re-entered).
