MEME

In a world where artistic license is harsher than slander or libel itself, but nonetheless gets away with it for being deceptively subjective and fictitious yet brutally honest, art must be the means to civic engagement and active participation.

MOTIVATION
|
The Industrial Revolution gave birth to the first form of mass media, which is the print media. Since then, people started to share the same stories and share the same experiences through newsletters and journals.
Language and grammar were fortified, giving people a more accurate means of sharing ideas and meaning through words.
Then nations rose. Language, which is the primary means of sharing symbols, boosted the development of culture and later on, economy. Sharing common loyalty and goals, people held patriotism and altogether they saw the path towards progress.
When culture in one nation becomes infected by foreign invasion, neo-colonialism, and cultural neglect and repression in pursuit of global fitness, the sharing of common meaning among the members of that nation decays. Goals split, language mutates, identity falls into a state of crisis.
Instinct for survival will cause some people to abandon roots to join the conqueror, not minding being treated as inferiors.
Some will prefer to give the burden of responsibility to good old fate despite awareness of reality.
Some, usually and understandably a few, will fight in a variety of methods, ranging from propaganda to war.
Which would you rather do?
