<<Sisay
gets acquainted to her new tutor: Sister Elsa Morante>>
<<Is
Charding falling in love, by any chance? ;)) >>
Siridar-Marquis'
Office -- Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain)
The Marquis' office is not much more
than a large open space with a desk near the back wall, facing the entrance.
The wall behind the desk holds a delicately painted mural of the Ginaz emblem.
A large map of Marcinko is plastered on one side wall, and a similar map of
Kaitain hangs on the opposite wall. The majority of the lacquered wooden floor
is left empty, and it already has several light scuff marks. An old-looking
sword stand that is just to one side of the desk holds several different
swords, and there is a severely damaged wooden column in the corner by the
entrance. A discreet door behind the desk seems to lead to a small washroom.

Jacob
mutters something into his desk speaker again, and leans back. "She will
be in shortly."
Elsa
nods and sits back, waiting for her future pupil to enter the fray, finishing
her excellent tea.
A young
lady all dressed in black enters, introduced by the guards. She sweats all over
and breathes heavily. A quick glance around the room and she notes her uncle,
whom she gives a quick boyish bow and a happy smile. She also notes an already
acquainted person, the Sister from the Lounge. What is she doing here?
Approaching her uncle, she asks, her voice trembling a little: "Your
Excellency? I have been summoned...?"
Jacob
nods with a warm smile to his niece. "Yes, my niece, do have a seat. I'll
have more tea sent in for the both of you. This is Sister Elsa Morante, and she
is to be your new tutor." Straight to the point.
Sisay
doesn't realize at first. She nods to the Sister and heads for the indicated
seat. "Oh, yes..." she says, but right before she would sit down lets
out a shriek: "Whaat?" What is going on here? Tutor? Me? HER? No!
That can't be! Her sweat gets colder and colder as her cheeks get whiter and
her smile perishes from her lips. She looks at her uncle, back at the Sister
than turns around, sighing deeply and finally, she falls down on the chair, the
scabbard hitting the floor with a loud *thud*
Jacob's
eyes narrow quickly and he practically barks. "Sisay, we spoke about
letting others help you. Your options are as follows: accept her help, or be
sent back to Marcinko, permanently. She is of the Bene Gesserit, and you can
learn much from her." His expression softens. "I have no choice in
the matter, Sisay, you've forced my hand."
Elsa
remains seated and looks over at the excited Lady, a soft but warm smile on her
face.
Sisay
shrugs and barely whispers: "I... I... know, I accepted the tutoring...
thing. But..." she waves her hands towards Elsa, "I'm sure this must
be a mistake... she can't be... we have... this surely is a mistake." The
puzzled look on her face would be almost amusing in other situations. That
witch! She knew it. She knew it from the beginning!
Jacob
speaks evenly but rapidly. "Sisay, she just learned of her assignment now.
As do you. And she will teach you some manners ... for example, about how to
greet someone important to whom you have just been introduced." A sardonic
smile.
Using
Allgau, Elsa says, "My Lady...I assure you, I am as much pleased as
surprised as you are. I am pleased to be able to enjoy a root tea as you so
cordially invited me to do so at your fine embassy..""
<<Sisay
thinks: Important? She ain't older than me. What tutoring can SHE provide?
Well, the sight is anyway far more pleasant than any old hag they would've sent
me. Oh well...>>
The
Lady raises off her seat and curtseys ever so graceful, a gazelle ready to be
slaughtered. "Sister Morante, I am pleased and surprised to meet you
again." she says neutrally. Beaming a quick glance towards her uncle,
Sisay raises from her curtsey and retakes her seat, holding her scabbard up
this time and leaning it against her chair.
Jacob
raises an eyebrow and sips from his purple beverage. He leans back and appears
content to watch the situation unfold.
Elsa's
smile does not falter. "My Lady, I was informed only a few hours ago af my
new assignment. I am pleased to see you again, and would love to work with you.
I do hope you will appreciate how my speaking your tongue has affected the
reason why I have been chosen to be honoured with your further education."
Sisay
forces a smile on her face. "In deed, you speak Allgau pretty well. I was
fortunate enough to learn this laguage since my birth." She takes a deep
breath, trying to calm herself from the shock. "I would be greatly
interested about your... other skills?" she asks in a soft voice.
<<Sisay
thinks: Nice trick. But impressing me takes more than that. I wonder, why her?
A local genius of some sort? Are all Sisters like this? ...many other questions
bounce wildly in her thoughts...>>
Elsa
nods slowly. "There will be ample opportunity for you to be introduced to
my teaching skills in the near futre, My Lady. And ample opportunity for you to
show your eagerness to learn new skills, I'm sure. If I may ask you a question
right away, My Lady, I would ask you what you feel you need not learn from me
anymore ? I would be most happy to scrap those from your schedule when a small
test will prove its unnessesity."
Sisay
narrows her eyelids and glances at the Sister thoughtfully. Then she says, with
a light shrug, looking at her uncle: "I don't know. I can swim, ride and
dance with blades pretty proficient." She blinks and then continues:
"Any of these skills you wanted to teach me, Sister?" she asks almost
provocatively.
Elsa
nods appreciatively. "I will take that into account, My Lady. Riding will
be scrapped. Dancing /without/blades could fill that gap, I'm sure. I would
love to discuss further methods of your training with both you and Your
Excellency, when time permits." She takes a sip from her new tea.
"Swimming is good. Your skills with armed combat are most welcome."
she adds.
Sisay
beams a smile and nods. "I think we can get along very well." She
looks towards her uncle for a moment then turning her gaze back at her new
tutor she adds: "I am sorry about my... misbehaviour earlier. I was
just... shocked."
Jacob
takes a last swig of his drink and stands. "I have other business to
attend to, ladies, but I do hope that you will continue to converse and get to
know each other."
Elsa
looks up from her tea "Being shocked is acceptable. Letting that affect
your judgment is not." she speaks plainly. "Your Excellency, I thank
you for your time and effort, and will undoubtedly see you again in the near
futire.."
Elsa
curtseys to the Siridar and smiles. "My Lord.."
Sisay
smiles. "Quite so, Sister. I do hope you will unravel the secrets behind
such a behaivior..." The lady giggles and raises to give her uncle a light
hug. "Thank you, uncle. I will see that Sister Elsa is well taken care
of." she says in a soft tone.
Chardin
enters the office after a discrete knock, his head poking round the door with a
pleasant smile. "Pardon me, m'ladies. Trust I am not disturbing
anything?"
Sisay
notices the mentat entering the room and smiles. She is dressed in her black
trainig outfit, with her rapier scabbard carefully placed near her. "Ah,
Master Klees. May I present you my tutor, Sister Elsa Morante." She raises
from her chair and approaches the Sister. "Sister? This is Master Klees,
Mentat and Master of Assasins. One of the few who had anything to do with my
education in my past."
Elsa
rises from her seat and curtseys to the Mentat. "Pleased to meet you,
Master Klees. I have just arrived here, and am honoured to make your
aquainatnce.."
Chardin
surveys this new figure with obvious interest, an eyebrow quirking even as he
offers a genteel and fluid bow. "And I you, Lady Elsa, a pleasure
indeed," he remarks around a genial and thoroughly charming smile, a great
rarity indeed to see such expression in a Mentat. "The Lady Sisay has been
in one capacity or another my charge for several years now, and I have been
privileged to see her blossom into the woman she is today. My full confidence
is in the Sisterhood and in your own capable talents and skills to take her now
where no mere Mentat can, to that poise and elegance which are a woman's
province alone, and best honed from those who in turn exhude it the most
thoroughly."
Elsas
amber eyes observe you curiously, and she looks you straight into your eyes,
meeting yours. However, instead of focusing on you, she seems just to focus a
little behind your eyes. "You are most kind, My Lord." There seems to
be a small glitter in her eyes as she is observing you, but then seems to catch
herself staring at you.
Sisay
curtseys in front of her Mentat and friend. However she glances quickly between
Elsa and the Master, concealing a smile behind her hand as she pretends to wipe
some sweat off her forehead. "In deed so, Master, and the credit is all
yours." she says in a merry tone which abruptly fades into a cold, neutral
one: "But that still made me appear alone at the Imperial Theatre the
other day... ".
Chardin
seems far too captivated by the oddity of the Bene Gesserit Sister to pay Sisay
much mind, indeed his eyes never leave hers and ... is that a faint blush to
his cheeks? Will wonders never cease. "It is a pity for a woman of such
accomplishment to be without a consort," though whether he refers to Sisay
or this new tutor, one can never tell.
Sisay
rolls her eyes towards the ceiling, recognizing the syndrome. Well, she was
ment for Master Chardin too I suppose. She chuckles politely as she straightens
her vest. "If you'll excuse me, I have a training to finish. Master Klees,
Sister Elsa still doesn't know the Embassy pretty well...". She doesn't
finish the sentance as it is no need for it. Everyone in this room knows he
will take _her_ to a tour. I only wonder how 'long' this tour will take.
Elsa
lowers her brow a little at the 'consort' word, but seems to decide to glance
at Chardin before turning to Sisay "I will come and visit your quarters
later today, my Lady." She turns her eyes back to the gorgeous mentat, and
replies. " I have been told you are the man to see when matters of
in-House nature are concerned...my Lord."
Jacob
walks in from Staff Offices Wing through the Pine Doors.
Sisay
sighs: "Of course..." but one cannot tell to what she refers. "I
can also be found in the gardens, most of the afternoons." she says,
walking towards the door, almost bumping into her uncle.
