Players: Jacob Exits: Frosted Glass Doors <W> leads to Lower Lobby�Lower Level (OOC) After a long, slow trip on a Guild Heighliner, you finally step off the ship and onto the soil of Kaitain for the first time. A large contingent of friendly House Ginaz guardsmen escort you to the Embassy via private ornithopter. When you arrive, you are shown to the Marquis� (your uncle�s) office first thing, even as your belongings are being brought to your new room, which you haven�t even seen yet. As you enter the room, your uncle, a very tall man, stands up from behind his desk and strides over to embrace you. He holds you then at arm�s length, smiling genuinely, and rumbles, �Ah! Sisay, so good to see you again, it has been to long. How was your trip?� Sisay embraces you warmly in her arms saying: �Hello uncle Jacob, I missed our training lessons!� She throws herself on one of the leather chairs and sighs deeply. �Oh, the trip was fine, a bit tiring, but it was fine. I tried to take a glimpse of the Navigator but, of course, I couldn�t see him�. Sisay giggles merrily. Jacob smiles warmly and gives you that look you remember all too well: he is trying hard to scold you but just can�t keep a straight face. He glides over to one of the other chairs in front of his desk and seats himself carefully, right next to you. �First time on Kaitain, Sisay, amd I right? How do you find it?� Sisay says in a grumpy voice: �Well, I have only seen the huge astroport. The rest has been too blurry because of the rush. You have efficient guards.� Jacob chuckles slightly and glances at one of the men who escorted you in. He now stands, guarding the door at attention, but Jacob seems to have caught him glancing casually at you. �I�m sure a lovely young girl like yourself will have no shortage of help from the guards and other staff.� He grins and continues, looking more at the guard than you, �But the first one that touches you gets all his fingers broken.� He�s still grinning broadly and seems to be joking�you think. The guard still pales just a bit despite your uncle�s apparent good humor. Sisay looks casucal back at the guard and says: �Oh, no worry uncle Jacob, I�ve worked on my reflexes with my knife. I think my stabbing works very efficiently now.� The guard gets a petrified look on his face. It is an enormous pyramid of gold-tinted glass. The square bottom of the Guild Spaceport�s Main Terminal rests upon a black onyx base, its edges overhanging to form wide eaves, and sliding double doors allow entry into the shining jewel of a starport. At night, glowglobes illuminate from inside, making each of the four sloping triangles shimmer with a golden light. During the day, the sun reflects off the tinted glass. From locations about the city, the glimmering light from this leviathan can be seen like a beacon. Rumors say it is the one man-made object on Kaitain that can be seen from space. When Phillip was young, he befriended the servant girl Genevieve, who was only a few years older than he was. When he was ten, he began extensive tutorage with his mother, who taught him all the fine aspects of science, art, and literature. When Phillip got a little older, he and Genevieve fell in love and secretly continued a relationship. While his father paid little attention to him in his early years, the Baron eventually insisted that Phillip attend the Ginaz Sword School. This of course meant that he would have to leave Genevieve, who he had become deeply in love with. After two years at the school, he returned to his home to find his lover ecstatic. Deciding it best, he made her his concubine, despite his father�s objections. For the next several years, Phillip served as a courtier amongst his father�s realm, earning the Baron�s esteem. When the House of Ginaz lost a Kanly duel on Kaitain, Baron Metternich took advantage of this. The new Marquis being his uncle, Phillip was sent to Kaitain to serve in the Court of House Ginaz. The metal making up the body of the vehicle is noticably thicker than the average groundcar. Tinted meta-glass windows prevent any curious onlookers from viewing the occupants. Phillip hands your baggage to the limousine driver, who in turn loads them into the vehicle. The driver stands back and Phillip looks back to you. �Oh! Mall - Guild Spaceport (Kaitain) Polished black onyx covers the expansive floor and low walls of the spaceport interior, the rest is gleaming plasteel supports and gold-tinted glass sloping inward on four sides hundreds of meters to a point where a model of the Known Universe hovers effortlessly, a crystal sphere lit with tiny glowglobes in clusters of constellation-like patterns. The Mall is an indoor patio with fountains and potted plants. Shops and eateries line the way. At the far end are the Guild offices and cargo check-points. Armed guards of one sort or another are always found within the spaceport, and security is enhanced by surveillance equipment and scanners. A soft, homogenized music plays in the background and solido projections at convenient locations display arrival and departure times. Most people talk, sing, chatter raucously, drink with glee; some take their pleasures in gloomy silence. The metal walls of the room contain and echo back the clamour. The beams and bulkheads give the room a sturdy appearance, as if the place were built to withstand great stresses. Along the west wall is a long, semi-circular bar. Piercing the roof is a broad circular skylight of metaglass, showing a dramatic view of the sky overhead. Scattered glowglobes illuminate the tables and booths throughout the barroom in pools of light. In the corner of the room, a baliset trio plays noisily. But you think underneath that smile is still a little girl who is afraid of the dark. Phillip takes a sip of his drink and then lays it on the table. �So...� he says, �how are things on Marcinko?� Sisay takes a quick sip from her wine and after a brief moment of what you think might be a calming technique she answers �My father sends his regards, of course. I have no word of my sister yet, as she is bound to marry Shane Padron from House Moritani.� Sisay leans on her seat relaxing herself a little. Phillip nods and sips his drink again. Though his expression is a bit uneasy as he speaks, he nevertheless asks, �Do you know who you are to be betrothed to?� You say, �I heard a rumor that it would be the na-Duke of the Atreides, but I cannot be sure. He seems the only possibility to me. By the way, do you know anything about him?� Phillip shakes his head. �I�m afraid not. Hmmm, it looks we�re all destined for a political marraige someday...� Sisay says in a grave voice: �As long as he�ll keep his hands to himself unless he�d want a dagger through his heart, it�s fine by me. I just need my space.� She takes another quick sip from the delicious wine. Phillip laughs lightly, though it seems just a bit out of place. �That�s the way it should be too.� Sisay smiles happily and leans over the table asking in a soft voice: �Why can�t you summon your beloved here? Why must you be apart?� Phillip says, �I have, but, well, arrangements simply can�t be made at the time. I think my mother would rather I meet a noblewoman and marry her here.� Sisay smiles sadly. Two sets of three seats face each other across a small, solid mahogany table. The sides of the table have recessed handles for access to the compartments within. A circular light over the table bathes the inside of the limousine in a soft light. White Marcinko Pines dot the grassy landscape, and men and women in purple and black Ginaz livery can be seen strolling along several long paths through it. A straight path leads up to the entrance of the Embassy proper, ending at two broad wooden doors. The Embassy itself practically gleams in any sunlight, the outer walls crafted of a simple dark blue granite flecked with silver, native to Marcinko. At night, dramatic uplighting along the walls of the Embassy accentuates its beauty, and the paths are all well-lit with functional but attractive lampposts. The Embassy appears to be square in design, with little embellishment save the natural beauty of the materials from which it was constructed. The effect is austere and elegant without being flashy. Ornithopters can be seen flitting around one corner of the roof. The only truly ornate thing about the courtyard is the intricately crafted fence that surrounds the whole of it. Foyer�Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain)(#600RntJ) Ceilings of gilded marble float high above the floor, supported by thick-looking pillars, which appear to be crafted of gold-shot white marble. High arches and sweeping buttresses help to accentuate the sheer size of this space. Each corner of the room has a large desk with an attendant seated at it. Many guards are posted all around the room; although this place is often filled with throngs of people there are always plenty of guards clearly visible and clearly in control of the situation. The floor appears to be of marble tiles, some black and some purple. A large House Ginaz banner hangs down from the ceiling. Formal Reception Room�Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain) Dark wood and minimal but comfortable accommodations seem to be the hallmark of this gathering place. Comfortable-looking chairs are scattered in small clumps around the room, and a small bar hosts a comprehensive drink and snack service. The floor is of a soft, padded gray carpet and the walls are simple, exposed dark wood, with several abstract paintings providing the only ornamentation. The lighting is easily adjustable, and a retractable screen and projector setup sit in the corner, out of the way. Until recently, she lived with her parents and her twin sister on their home world. Her older brother died seven years ago, devastating Delana at the time as she had worshipped the ground he walked upon. She learned to be a lady as was proper, despite her rather impish personality and tendencies. A bit of training in the sword was given thanks to her birthright and her stubborn determination to follow her brother�s example (before his death). When Phillip was young, he befriended the servant girl Genevieve, who was only a few years older than he was. When he was ten, he began extensive tutorage with his mother, who taught him all the fine aspects of science, art, and literature. When Phillip got a little older, he and Genevieve fell in love and secretly continued a relationship. While his father paid little attention to him in his early years, the Baron eventually insisted that Phillip attend the Ginaz Sword School. This of course meant that he would have to leave Genevieve, who he had become deeply in love with. After two years at the school, he returned to his home to find his lover ecstatic. Deciding it best, he made her his concubine, despite his father�s objections. For the next several years, Phillip served as a courtier amongst his father�s realm, earning the Baron�s esteem. His parents were House Ginaz diplomats and he was trained from an early age for a career of Civil service within the House. The stability of his early years was shattered however when his parents died in an ornithopter accident when he was only 9 years old. Raised as a ward of House Ginaz ever since, he was sent to the Ginaz Academy for basic martial and leadership training before being sent to the College of the Padishah, Kaitain to complete an Imperial Degree. He majored in both Imperial Economics and Political Science, with minors in CHOAM/Landsraad protocol. Anthony demonstrated at both schools a unnatural rate of learning and was an all-round achiever. He was both an excellent essayist, a skilled swordsman and an adroit debater at school. All this allowed him to graduate top of this class after each exam and to be the first every two-time valedictorian in Imperial History. Some of his early Education was by mentats of the School on Ix, but at age 12, he was sent to the Suk School. He has just reciently graduated from the School in the top 10 of his class, and currently has been hired by the House Ginaz Psychological Profile: His personally has been strictly molded by his Imperial Conditioning. He cannot take another person�s life, not even a hated enemies of his Lord. He enjoys reading, espically about the latest medical breakthroughs, this comes from his early mentat training as a child. He is espically intrested in some of the Tleilaxu discoveries, such as artifical eyes and the possibility of regrowing organs from genetic matereal, simmilar to the ghola process. His major Dislike is the whole process of kanly and war in general. He finds the useless waste of life very disturbing. Medical Profile: Yuri was born Blind. Because of this genetic defect, he has a set of Tleilaxu metal eyes. They let him see normally, if not giving him better than normal eyesight. Childless, Nikolai has been a second father to Andrey, grooming him to take on his hereditary duties. Andrey thus became familiar with court life at a young age. As a noble, Andrey was also schooled in etiquette, courtesy, and protocol, in addition to riding, swimming, swordfighting, chess and the other such gentlemanly pursuits. For further experience and education, and on Nikolai�s suggestion, Andrey was sent by his father to serve House Ginaz on Kaitain, as a member of the Marquis� staff. Lorn thier only child was almost spoiled as he grew up he almost always got what he wanted. He was very demanding with others as well things always had to be done his way if not he would be quick to anger. He dispite his strenght and size was not intrested in the Sword school his dream was to travel to new worlds and meet new people and study thier cultures. Even though his parents felt he would be better to attend the Sword School he refused and They gave into his desires once more and scraped up enought money to enrole him in a local school where he could learn the basics on relations with other worlds. He studied hard for sometime he was not the top of the class more of the upper middle. Finaly his deam coming true he was given the oppertunity of a life time to go to Kaitain to futher his training with hands on experance as an aid. Thinking he would learn all he needs to know at a much quicker rate jumped at the chance. Now he finds himself in a much different enviroment one where errors mean more then a low grade. His daily routine may seem strange to others: meditation and the constant practice of techniques, mental and physical. Because of his rigorous daily life, McNaire is always ready. And somehow, he�s been able to apply bushido to other things besides swordplay, giving him a sharp tongue and quick wit. But his life was not always so clear. Early in his childhood, McNaire was orphaned, the son of a lowly military officer and his wife. His life consisted only of thoughts of a possible next meal and how to keep hunger away. Confusion, panic, and depression washed over him as he drowned his sorrows in rice wine and beer, becoming an alcoholic at the age of 7. He was close to death. Then his father�s military took him, the Ginaz military, in the tradition of syn polka, which went back to the old days of Earth. They straightened him up, and McNaire embraced the rigorous discipline that the military imposed over him, embracing to it in the place of his father. He is known to be a Level 7 Swordsman of at least 25 years of training and experience, having devoted 15 of those years to the Ginaz Academy itself.
