II International Workshop on Veterinary Vaccinology

Vacination remains as one of the most feasible and economic ways used for controlling diseases of veterinary interest. In the last years, the advances in Molecular Biology and Immunology have let to the issue of new generations of vaccines provoking a revolution in the production of these through advanced technologies.

In this context, our Institution has organised the II International Workshop of Veterinary Vaccinology during the I International Seminary of Animal Health to development from September 24-26 of 2003 to propitiate a scientific exchange of the modern trends in the research and production of veterinary vaccines.

Papers will be presented as posters, conferences and round tables with the attendance of national and international well known scientists.

During the workshop time will be available for free discussions about joint projects or other collaborative agreements.

Topics:

New technologies in the obtainment of vaccines

Use of lives vectors, recombinant vaccines, DNA vaccines, vaccines in plants and parasitic vaccines.
Immunology aspects related to vaccines, evasion of the immune response, development of animal models.
Genomic, proteomic and vaccine development.
Scale up and quality control in the obtainment of vaccines.
Regulatory aspects related to the obtainment and application of vaccines.
Strategies for the use of vaccines in different species: poultry, bovine, swine, equine and affective animals.
Marketing and intellectual property.
