| Our Mission is... to help women at West Chester University learn how to feel better about their bodies and to stop defining themselves based on their appearance. By doing so, we hope these women will be less likely to engage in eating disorder behavior. Sorority women participating in our organization will learn how to empower, as well as understand how they can actively improve the climate in which they live. From educating the members of their sororities about healthy eating habits and behavior, members will learn how to develop a healthy body image, improve self-esteem, and build up empowerment. |

| About Our Program... This organization has been started for a number of different reasons. First, we wanted to see the women of WCU learn to feel better about their bodies and to stop defining their self worth based on their appearance. Second, we believe that prevention is a worthwhile endeavor because of the devasting effects of eating disorders. Finally, through the active involvement of our program, sorority women will learn how to empower themselves as well as others, as they work to create the neccessary changes in the media and society . |
