It has now been more than ten
years since the concept of the
what was to become the Dalmatian
Switching District, Inc. started to
form in my mind. There had been
a long spell of armchair modeling
(mostly reading the monthly
magazines), since my last attempt
to build a model railroad. It had been (as it turned out)
a permanent layout. This new layout was not
going to be anything like the first structure,
it HAD to be portable.
