Student self-reliance and responsibility were fostered through the use of clear expectations, a student created behavior management plan, and consistent praise.  Developed successful literacy block emphasizing reading strategies and comprehension skills, engaged students in the six-trait writing process to produce multiple modes of writing, and promoted effective communication techniques.  Integrated Accelerated Reader program.  Applied NCTM standards through the use of manipulatives, hands on learning, and multiple assessment strategies in math.  Produced integrated unit.  Served on building safety committee and as a teacher liaison to the bond/levy committee.  Assisted in school talent production.
