“Thinking About Sleeping”
in the candlelight, like moonlight
I crave the sleep patterns
of a grizzly bear
to hide through the winter
and rise with the spring
singing with the flowers
my head buzzing like the bees
feel whispers pass the music
I stretch out for your hello
with a tiger holding me in darkness
through the mouth of a virgin
we creep like insects
touching gently, then running away
the wind blows, crystal sparks
and chandeliers shimmer
we split at the crossing
into opposing worlds of television
and mindfields
alone and hushed by strangers
I creep again, not thinking
but recalling times that once felt safer
when I used to not care
