"New Life"

The newness presented in a different path
opening my heart
I strive for a new life
Not letting the past continue to echo
but keeping it close to my heart
Life is a game we learn to play
I'm ready to go river rafting
Balancing in the strangest way
My heart speaks like it knows something
I'm tickled by thoughts
I find myself daydreaming again
about a love I've never felt before
Simple happiness
Love does not have to be complex
I feel alive at night
I sleep little and dream throughout my day
Stopped chasing what I thought would always be
It's better to sail away than stay anchored in an oasis
I used to speak so concrete
I want to speak more freely
My heart's always beating
And my soul has been thinking
I tripped over my dead body
and stumbled here slowly
Knelt and prayed at the door
for the new life to begin
My eyes out of focus
I use my heart to see
I crawl onto the shiny dancefloor
and stand in the spotlight
My soul is excavated by the hands of God
and we dance for a second
'til he lets me down
I spin, semi-whirlwind
I desire to dance some more
My body and my soul waltz for a moment
then swallow each other whole
It's time to live once again
