“Long Forgotten in Three Parts”
In a sleepful wake
wearing night goggles in broad daylight
the fortune teller mumbled
and I pulled out too soon
for a second wind of the generation
long forgotten
I rip like a paper and float uselessly away
belly-up and bleeding
I free the cat’s meow
done with Love’s inferiority
a tiger lunges out roaring
like soaring through the shadows of stars
long forgotten parts
the storyteller’s art
failed like an unheard whisper
of a secret you long to hear
I wade in holy water
where broken glass and tears sink
to the bottom
my weightless soul
wears a life preserver
to take me swimming with dolphins and sharks
