“Little Shellfish Boy”

flying hearts signify the various parts
of the union between the sparrow and the fish
I get lost in a puddle on my way home
Swimming with yellow bacteria and invisible tadpoles
Release my frustration in a song
And end up crunched into the bowl of a bong
Never should have dyed my hair purple
Cos the burn is too much
And my pretty skin will melt away
Leaving only a skeleton and a heart
And a bit of brain here and there
For memory purposes
Will you recognize me now?
Or will I seem a bit hollow?
Don’t let go
I’ll always be growing and my love will always glow
Can’t keep happiness bound in a ball
Feel my bones pulse with bloodlight
The insides remain the same
The shell will always break
Wasn’t sure if you felt it
But I can sense your body quake
