"Foolish"
Why can't the path I chose be straight and narrow
Why's it have to be filled with land mines and broken arrows?
Pointing fingers in all directions
People get me lost so easily
I'm blind to them most of the time
But they're all I've got really
And then there's you, the one, the truth
Gone to sing your song of freedom and of youth
Why does my heart choose to smother you?
Like a newborn baby's mother and father do
Though you've elected to drop me so
Telling me that we've got to go
forward not backwards
Into the screaming moon I wander
Finally alive, left to ponder
Is what I'm feeling called "false hope"
Or is there truth in the fact that I claim to know?
I fell off a cliff once to be with you
I'm willing to do it again, if I really have to
