"My First Epic-uette Poem"

 #1 The Search 
 They ventured out across the plain 
 In search of something true 
 They followed the sun's changing direction 
 And go nowhere new 
 But when they believed they had 
 Reached their destination 
 They plunged their hands in the dirt 
 And pulled out handfuls of diamonds 
 That gave them some kind of worth 

 #2 Left Behind 
 He was tired and got left behind 
 When he woke up alone 
 Two tears fell from his eyes 
 He didn't cry again after that 
 He just built a ship with trees 
 No one heard from him again 
 Because he went out sailing on the sea 

 #3 Love 
 Your beauty transcends this place 
 And is found far beneath your face 
 Deep in your eyes 
 I follow them to your heart 
 And I rest 

 #4 Desert Island 
 He landed on a desert island 
 And decided to call it home 
 Little did he know 
 He wasn't alone 

 #5 Baby Bird 
 Like a baby bird in my mother's nest 
 I sleep away each and every day 

 #6 They Made A Fatal Error 
 They were arrested for theft 
 And placed in a gated community 
 When they asked what they did wrong 
 They were told they tried to reach infinity 
 But how can that be wrong? They asked 
 We tried to do everything right 
 But right is not always right they were told 
 And besides, you're missing two eyes bright 
 Then they realized their fatal error 

 #7 Butterfly 
 I'm breaking out of my cocoon now 
 My wings are pretty 
 Pink purple blue and green 
 But what am I supposed to do now? 

 #8 Someone Else Here 
 He was more than perceptive 
 And felt the presence of another 
 When he first laid eyes on him 
 His soul let out a shudder 
 This was something new 
 This was something different 
 And he found it on his own 
 He remembered back to those who left him 

 #9 They're Dead 
 They're dead, they're dead 
 But they'll be back again 

 #10 Desert Island 2 
 I flittered and fluttered around 
 Unsure of where to go 
 I felt a yearning deep inside 
 So I decided to follow my soul 
 To a desert island 
 Where no one else roamed 
 Where I'd live freely 
 In this place I now call home 
 But little did I know 
 I wasn't alone 

 #11 True Love 
 He put his hand to his heart 
 And felt the blood rushing through 
 He cried again, two more tears 
 For he knew he had found something true 

 #12 Follow Me 
 I knew that he was watching 
 Though he knew not that I knew 
 I danced in the sky like a shooting star 
 Contemplating what next I would do 
 I floated to a spot 
 Where I knew he wouldn't be 
 To see if he would follow 
 So we could fall in love completely 

 #13 Love Love Love Love Love 
 He and I met in that place I floated to 
 We drifted off together as new lovers 
 Who really aren't that new 
 My wings began to fade and fall 
 His skin began to melt 
 We were evolving into the same being 
 Creating the thing our hearts always felt 
 My one true love has met me here 
 On this love nest in the sea 
 We're falling into colored lights 
 Constantly revolving around the heart in our dreams
