"Without You"

When you left the circus troupe
I thought we'd never meet again
I cried five times more than ever before
And played solitaire in my den…
 Without you

I couldn't juggle the broken pieces of my heart
And I couldn't paint on a happy face
The big top had fallen on me
And I knew I'd place last in the next three-legged race…
 Without you

 Bored beneath our beautiful moon
Tears falling like rain when it gently trickles
I put away all my circus gear
You know how I hate riding my unicycle…
 Without you

The rain poured on my saddened face
The make-up melted away for good
I left my circus life, I died again
 I acted alone, I did all I could…
 Without you

I saw you again seventeen years later
But I knew you'd never notice me
You rode a brand new bicycle, rode with someone new
All I did was smile and walk away quietly…
 Without you
