Sir
Oliver's
Utilities
Tweak User Interface 98
(TweakUI)
.
This
is a great utility created by the Windows team. The reason it evolved was because Microsoft got tired of the
hassle from customers about their Graphical User Interface (GUI). This will allow you to tweak many
aspects of your graphical appearance and actions.
Want
to add your own logo on your system properties? This has to be the most user
friendly utility I can think of. Its simple and easy!
This will
easily let you change your logos with a simple click of the mouse. After the
installation of this utility, there will be an extra tab on your
display properties. You can
take it from there.
A
great tool to transmit data from one system to another. One of the greatest advantages is it
being DOS based.
This
has to be my favorite! One day I
looked and pondered for a way to boot Linux with out Lilo from the famous NT
boot menu. This will edit your
boot.ini file for you by creating a bin file (link) to your Linux drive. More details in the read me file.
TIP: Before you use this
you need to have Linux on your system and your Lilo loaded on your Linux
partition NOT your master boot record (MBR).
If
you dont use NT or Windows 2000 and you want a multi-boot system, try
this. This program will allow you
to boot up to 6 operating systems but only 3 with this demo version. And no it does not expire on you. What I use it primarily for is to back
up my MBR. You can never be too
safe.
This
is not the Ghost Viewer known from Linux.
Anyone can update their system to a larger hard drive without losing
their operating system with this great utility. In other words, it does an
exact image copy of your old drive to your new one.
TIP: Only works on a
FAT-16 partition. Therefore, if
youre using a FAT-32 (Windows 98), convert your partition back to FAT-16 with
Partition Magic first. Also, for
you dual booting geeks, save your NT boot files before hand and your MBR.
If you dont
know your hardware of the computer then use this. This will tell you everything about your hardware and where
it is without even opening your pc.
A quick and handy tool especially if the hardware itself is not
labeled. Just extract it to a
floppy with system files from your computer and youre in there.
The guy
who wrote this program saved me a few headaches. It will crack the password security and allow you to do what
ever you need in BIOS setup. IF
you can boot to a media device, run the program and a password is issued back
to the user for re-entree into the BIOS.
