Heaven's Light
Evening falls weak tonight
The heavens eclipsed by another's light
Sirius, the dog star, glows
Shining with a fervent light
Briliant in this blackest night
What I fear, it knows
Powerless against its right
I still dare and need to fight
Belovd star mocking like my foes
Now he shimmers in my stight
Still I cannot feel this is right
Against the truth, my eyes close
No tear comes to fall this night
For such a loss, tears can't be right
Instead I linger in the light
As, from the dog star, his soul glows
In heaven's embrace, away from us,
He wouldn't want a mournful fuss
Sirius still glows
