There are 7 colleges of public
health in every geographical region. They are responsible
for developing and managing health science education
programs, i.e. community health workers, pharmacy technicians,
dental nurses, and those respond to emerging health
problems. The colleges are the sole institutions that
produce certificate community health workers who are
posted at the most peripheral units in health care system-health
centers. Other activities undertaken by the colleges
are organizing in-service training programs, both technical
and administration for health personnel; developing,
coordinating, and managing continuing education programs
doing research and development in health science education
as well as in public health areas.
