"It was hard, and I was bummed out. For a while I was thinking, 'This is stupid. Why spend the next five years being there but not really making it?' But people were saying, 'You're young. You can't give up.' And I never really intended to." -Siri on being cut from the WWC99 team |

A natural leader! Siri leads the pack on the warm-up jog. |

Siri was selected as one of four goalkeepers invited to the residency camp for the 1999 Women's World Cup. Was also on the Under-21 Women's National Team. She earned her first national team cap against Japan in Atlanta on May 2, 1999. Was also a member of the U-20 Women's National Team who competed in the Nordic Cup in Sweden in 1996 and in Denmark in 1997. They ended up winning in 1997. She was unable to play with the team in the 1998 Nordic Cup due to an injury. When she returned in 1999, she helped the US regain the championship. She was also a member of the U-16 Women's National Team. Siri is now with the 2000 Women's National Team and invited to the 2000 Olympics residency camp. |

"I'd love to have made the World Cup roster, but I'll get to play a lot of games with the Wings this summer, so I'll be getting more experience. In the long run, that might be better for me. Now, I want to work to make the [2000] Olympic Team." -Siri on being one of the last cut from the WWC99 team. (I'd be VERY surprised if she didn't get on the 2000 Olympic team, like she wanted!) |
