A Self-Portrait
My name is Natalie, but you can just know me as the Siren. I love literature, art, music, theology, and basically anything that makes man explore and celebrate his existance. I also love Sirens, for unknown reasons. I am a Christian, but very open minded and tolerant of other people's beliefs. In fact, I am much more tolerant of open-minded Existentialists than I am of closed-minded christians. Not only do I enjoy many forms of the arts, but I participate in them as well. I write novels, short stories, and poems, some of which are on this site. I play the piano, the clarinet, and a bit of guitar, as well as singing. All of the black and white photos on this page I took or set up, and all of them I developed. My goals in life at this point are to spread the love of Christ, express myself in all ways possible, and work hard to secure my future. I hope to someday work in some field of writing, either a journalist, a novelist, or a teacher.
I am very happy to say that I have many friends who I love very much, and you can find out more about them on my friend's page or on their sites, which I have linked. Friends are very important to me, because a short time ago I realized that the purpose of friends was not to have another human being to talk to about other human beings, or to have another person to do things with. The real purpose of friends is love, which is something you can never have too much of. I am very fortunate to have a wealth of it, and I only hope I give enough of it back.

"Love never fails. But where there are prophesies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where tere is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reason like a child. When I became a woman, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." --I Corinthians 13:8-13
