"So what now?" Tifa asked quietly.

Barret didn't respond. He paced back and forth angrily around the run down playground in sector six.

Tifa was sitting at the end of a slide, her head in her hands. Opposite, Jinette,  who had been sitting quietly stood up and signed. "I'm sorry about your friends," she said, delicately. Tifa muttered something under her breath.

Barret suddenly stopped pacing. "I want to see Marlene."

Tifa looked up. "Aeris took her to her home. It's in the sector five slums. I don't completely remember the way though."

"I know the way," Jinette said. "Maybe we can get some rest there as well." She turned and exited the playground. Barret quickly followed. Tifa rose, and walked slowly behind.

Aeris sat quietly looking out of the back window in sadness, as she watched the plate collapse, sending out huge fireballs and chunks of steel. She signed.

"Be happy," the blonde Turk sitting next to her said. Aeris eyes stayed focused on the window.

"Be happy?" Aeris repeated, her face filled with anger.

"Yes," her kidnapper said calmly. "Now Midgar will be safer."

"Not that it will matter to me, will it?" Aeris spat, glaring at the woman Turk accusingly. "I'll just be locked up again in Hojo's ...lab. Again." She shuddered, and turned away. The Turk didn't reply, just looked straight ahead, ignoring the young Cetra's outburst.

The explosions in sector seven were far away now, but still visible.

At the front of the plane sat Tseng and Cloud, both very silent.

AUTHORS NOTE: Is it any good? Well, If you've come this far then I suppose you think it's ok. (I was inspired by 'ff7 twisted'. You must read it of you haven't already.Go to my links page to find out where it is.) I would like to hear your opinons, so I can decide whether to continue writing it.

I know there are bits in the story that I never really filled in. I wrote Midgar Conspiracies over two years ago, and I haven't touched it since. I could never be bothered to finish it (I'm a very lazy girl) So please send me your comments about it to me at:

[email protected]

Thanks.
