| Not Like Us
Shhh. Dont stare at them. You might make them feel uneasy. Those people are not like us. Oh, you say? They look like us, And they sound like us, And they smell like us, But I tell you, They're not like us. Our kind used to be, Carefree and taking everything for granted. Like them. But now they just tolerate our kind, Most would be happier if we just went away. No, they wont admit it, but, If they did care why do we have to struggle so? Their world is not designed for us. We are tolerated, thats it. Think about it. How often do you see our kind? In the media, in the workforce, or in everyday life? Maybe someday well be accepted, And not pitied. For you see we are different because, We live our lives in a chair on wheels. -Dave Shafto June 2000 |
