First United Methodist Church
Battle Creek, Michigan

On June 9, 2001 I had the rare and wonderful opportunity to perform in public. The occasion... a wedding. The place... First United Methodist Church in Battle Creek, Michigan. The offering... a ten minute organ prelude, an improvisation on a medley of popular hymn tunes immediately prior to the bride's processional. For an amateur musician, this opportunity to honour a lady I love and adore was an experience of a lifetime. When the prelude began the crescendo that reached its climax in a "full organ" fanfare, that announced the pending entrance of the bride, it was definitely something to be remembered. The bride... was none other than LadyDianne. The occassion... OUR wedding!

The feelings I experienced during the prelude were only exceeded a few moments later by an overwhelming sense of Love and, yes I'll admit it, pride, when, to the powerful melody of Ralph Vaughn William's "Sine Nomine" (heard here) I preceeded Dianne down the centre aisle holding our (then) 14 month old twiin daughter in my arms. Dianne followed a few steps behind holding our twiin son. THAT... was an experience I'll never forget!!!
