0. Eranah, the Blademaster
On the planet of Kuri there exists a bloodline of warriors that can be traced back for many generations. This bloodline has carried some of Kuris greatest warriors, who have always selflessly defended the good of the world. These warriors are known as the Blademasters, named so for their traditional usage of the sword. Not so many decades ago, the Blademaster bloodline was given their very first female descendant. Her name was Eranah; she was a woman of incredible beauty, and her name was known throughout the world; not so much for her beauty, but more so for her incredible prowess as a warrior. Many say that of all the Blademasters Kuri had witnessed throughout the years, she was the most powerful.

One day a plea for help came from the kingdom of Drel. For years, the kingdom had been ruled by an evil lord; a man by the name of Darkholm. Most citizens had simply accepted the horrible lives they led under his tyrannical rule, and those who attemped to defy the lord were met with an agonizing end. Finally, the cries for help had made it outside the walls of the kingdom. Without hesitation, Eranah stormed the castle, leading the charge to free Drel from their rulers iron fist. The liberation was successful, with Eranah herself defeating the evil Darkholm. This defeat, however, was oddly more of a concession than Darkholm actually being bested by the beautiful Blademaster. The evil dictator was imprisoned, and sentenced to death.

Eranah was puzzled by Darkholm's refusal to fight her. She confronted him before his sentence was to be carried out, demanding an explanation. Darkholm revealed that he had an immense attraction for the Blademaster. From the moment he saw Eranah, he had fallen for her. Even more strange, was the fact that Eranah had felt the same attraction. The night before Darkholms death sentence was to be carried out, Eranah aided in his escape. The two fled together, back to Darkholms kingdom of Drel. From there Darkholm renounced his evil ways, and promised to be a fair and just king from that day forth. He also declared that the kingdom would have a queen again: his soon to be wife, Eranah. The two were married, and Darkholms word was good. The kingdom of Drel prospered, and the people of the kingdom were happy with their ruler and their new queen. Soon after their marriage, Eranah became pregnant, and the two had a child together. It was a small boy, and his birth became a sign of hope, and a new start for the whole kingdom of Drel, Darkholm included. This boy would someday become the man known as Metal Sabre.

Unfortunately, if the birth of the young prince was indeed a sign, the sign proved to be nothing more than false. Whether it had been a ruse all along, or something happened to cause the change, Darkholm began to revert back to his cruel ways. Eranah refused to acknowledge what she knew deep down was happening, for her love for the man was great. When she finally accepted the truth, it broke her heart. Rather than save what was now her kingdom too, she fled with the infant prince, her spirit crushed.

1.The Young Blademaster
Eranah escaped to the small village of Javenbrook; it was the home of Seth, her father and retired Blademaster. The boy that would one day become Metal Sabre spent his early years secluded in the village, primarily under the care and tutelage of his grandfather. In the meantime, Eranah slowly began to heal her broken heart. Finally, she regained the strength she needed and prepared to depart. She left the village, with nothing more than a short goodbye. She had informed her father, Seth, that she planned to return to Drel to do what was right. That was the last Metal Sabre would ever see of his mother.

Seth began training Metal Sabre in the ways of the Blademasters at a very young age. The boy needed no encouragement, and seemed to love nothing more than the feel of a sword in his hand. While the other children of the land would play, Metal Sabre would practice with his blade. As his ancestors before him, he was a natural with the weapon, and only became better with each day. By the age of twelve, he could best anyone, young or old, in a swordfight in his village. Save his grandfather, there was not an opponent within the area that Metal Sabre could not easily defeat. He needed new challenges, and new opponents.

Shortly after his fifteenth birthday, Metal Sabre decided to leave the village. His grandfather did not want him to go, but knew that this day was inevitable. Metal Sabre set off on his own, finding many adventures and challenges throughout the land of Kuri. He wandered for nearly three years throughout the land, doing what he could to survive, and learning as much as possible about various styles of combat. His travels finally took him to a place he would come to know all too well; the land of Karchan. It was here that the real adventure began for the young Blademaster.

Metal Sabre made his presence known immediately in the land of Karchan, a young swordsman hungry for adventure. His first acquaintance was a man named Blackfyre Darklite, who helped Metal Sabre familiarize himself with the land. To this day, the two remain good friends. Metal Sabre had many adventures in his early days. He formed a guild, to which the likes of Aeson and Isabo were affiliated. He was also a member of the Rangers of Karchan for a short time, and of Hypotsis' Blackrobes; a man whom Metal Sabre became good friends with as well. He also became a core member of the Crimson Blades during their initial days in Karchan. Of them all, the affiliation that Metal Sabre was most proud of was when he later became the squire of Estlor, the Azure Knight of Karchan. Metal Sabre had dreamed of becoming a Knight since his arrival in the land, and was thrilled to be under the tutelage of a man he had so much respect for. Metal Sabre became a staple for a time in Karchan as one of its most courageous warriors, always in the front lines in the battles against the forces of evil.

2. The Dark Sword
In his early days in Karchan. the Magii of the Inner Flame was the land's greatest guild. The Magii of the Inner Flame, or MIF for short, were a large group of some of Kuri's greatest magic users. You could not turn a corner in Karchan's towns and villages without running into a member of the MIF. Duels and battles became a thing of great frustration for Metal Sabre, as he had never dealt with such powerful magic before. One day he spoke of his troubles to his friend, Blackfyre. Blackfyre decided to aid his friend, and offered him a weapon that would help aid Metal Sabre in his battles against any magic users. The weapon was a great blade, known as the Dark Sword. It possessed the capability to absorb all magic around it; a perfect solution to Metal Sabre's problem. The sword, however, was also cursed. Blackfyre warned Metal Sabre of this, but both assumed that Metal Sabre possessed the conviction to withstand the weapon's influence.
Unfortunately, neither knew of the weapon's true nature.

The Dark Sword was the sword of Karn's evil brother, Zhanos. The blade itself was made from a piece of the Black Shard, which was a small fragment of the Darkness that has attempted to consume everything since the beginning of time. As a piece of the Shard, the Dark Sword was actually a form of sentience, and its goal was to turn everything around it into nothing, as the Darkness has always done. Some speculate that the sword actually controlled Zhanos as opposed to him controlling the sword. A person would need an infinite amount of willpower to withstand the blade's influence.

Though a young man of great moral character and strong willpower, Metal Sabre soon fell prey to the blade's influence. The Dark Sword changed him, turning him into a person nearly the complete opposite of his former self. The Blade drew Metal Sabre to murder, and he nearly killed his friend Blackfyre in a confrontation. But before he could deliver the killing blow, he managed to break free of the blade's control for an instant, thanks to the help of his friends. Blackfyre was able to take back the weapon and seal it away again, and Metal Sabre reverted to normal. However, Metal Sabre was then taken to trial for all of the havoc he had caused. Thankfully, Metal Sabre was cleared of the charges, but the event had changed Metal Sabre. He was no longer the innocent young man that he was when he first came to Karchan.

3. The Evil Ruler and the Beautiful Bride
Not long after the Dark Sword fiasco, an evil man with powerful magical abilities entered the land, and began causing trouble with his dark powers. The man claimed that it was his destiny to rule over all of Kuri, and Karchan was the next land to fall into his grasp. Seeking out recruits for his ranks, the man came into contact with a young mage by the name of Jaxom. Jaxom had just arrived in Karchan, and was a confused soul in need of direction. This evil man offered him just that, and Jaxom agreed to stand by his side.

The man also attempted to recruit Metal Sabre, even going so far as to say it was his destiny to join him. Metal Sabre refused, and the two proceeded to feud for over a month. Metal Sabre found that not only was this man a powerful magic user, but his fighting skills rivaled Metal Sabre's own. The battles between the two finally came to a climactic end, both nearly killing each other. Metal Sabre barely managed to best the powerful fiend, delivering a fatal blow to the evil warrior. As he lay dying, the man actually revealed himself to be none other than the evil lord, Darkholm; Metal Sabres father. He had come to Karchan by himself in order to convince his son to join his army, so that they could rule Kuri together. Darkholm also swore that although he and his son would not rule together, Metal Sabre would one day follow in his footsteps, and finish the conquest of Kuri that he had started.

Metal Sabre was horrified by the fact that his own father could be such a terrible person, and entered a state of deep depression. However, this pitiful state was not to last, thanks to a young woman who had become quite interested with Metal Sabre. Her name was Jasmine, a young woman whom Metal Sabre had saved from being killed by Darkholm. She was a wonderful young woman, whose beauty was overshadowed only by her infinite compassion. Metal Sabre decided to shun his ways as a defender of the land, and focus on his own life, as opposed to others'. After only a short time together, Jasmine and Metal Sabre were married.

For a time, Metal Sabre seemed perfectly content with his life. But he soon began to feel the call to help those in need. At first it was not too difficult to balance his life with Jasmine, and his life as a protector of Karchan. Even as he became Estlor's squire, he still made time for his beautiful wife. One day, however, Metal Sabre received a message from the village of Javenbrook. Apparently, since Darkholms defeat, many of his commanders in his army had continued the conquest that their master had begun. Their invasion of Kuri had reached the town of Metal Sabres youth, and Javenbrook had not the defenses to withstand the attack. Metal Sabre knew this moment was inevitable, but it did not make the choice any easier. He realized that he had to choose between living life for himself, or for others. After much thought, Metal Sabre left the land of Karchan to save Javenbrook, without even so much as a good bye.

4. The Assassin of Dagorii
Metal Sabre arrived in Javenbrook, only to find the small village to be nothing but ash. The only bodies he could find were dead, except for one. Seth, his grandfather was bound to the village well, battered and bloodied nearly to the point of death. Metal Sabre quickly ran to his grandfather, only to find the wounds too severe for the old man to survive. Before his death, Seth told Metal Sabre to take the family sword, which he had kept since Eranah had returned from Drel, and put a stop to the evil forces of Drel. His body craving for vengeance, Metal Sabre journeyed onward towards the place of his birth.

Getting to Drel in one piece would not be so simple for Metal Sabre. As a Squire of the Knights, and such an active warrior against Karchan's forces of evil, he had gained the attention of Dagorii, the Diety of War. So much so, that Dagorii appointed one of his greatest assassins to hunt him down. Her name was Helena. She had met up with Metal Sabre not long after he left Javenbrook, drugging and seducing him. But when it came time to complete her duty, she found she could not. As Darkholm had fallen for Eranah so many years ago, Helena now felt the same kind of attraction toward Metal Sabre. As quickly as she had entered the Blademaster's life, she left it without a trace. Although confused as to what the woman's true intentions were, Metal Sabre traveled onward, and before long reached the kingdom of Drel.

5. The Death of Metal Sabre
Upon arriving, Metal Sabre managed to sneak his way into the slums of Drel, in hopes of gaining information on how to infiltrate the castle. Metal Sabre quickly caught the eye of a rebel faction, who had been making plans to overthrow their current dictators. Though at first mistaken for an assassin sent to murder the rebel leaders, it was soon revealed that Metal Sabre was in fact the son of the good Queen Eranah, whom many of the rebels still remembered. Their conviction much stronger now that Metal Sabre had joined their cause, the rebels decided it was the time to attack.

A massive battle ensued, and though their numbers were not as great, the rebels slowly managed to overtake the evil rulers of Drel. Much of the rebels success was credited to Metal Sabre alone, who managed to slay nearly all of the despots of the kingdom. The final tyrant of the land, a lord by the name of Baxtor, fled to the tallest tower of Drel, with Metal Sabre in pursuit. Reaching the top of the tower, Baxtor found himself trapped. After an easily won swordfight, Metal Sabre prepared to deliver the killing blow to Lord Baxtor. Unfortunately, many of the lords men had seen the two ascend the tower, and had followed them. Metal Sabre was soon hopelessly outnumbered, though fought on bravely. Lord Baxtor had in the meantime found himself a weapon, a crossbow, and took aim at Metal Sabres heart. Moving just in the nick of time, the bolt from the crossbow missed his heart, instead digging deep into the Blademasters left shoulder. But due to the close quarters of the small tower, Metal Sabre was sent reeling backward out a nearby window. Clenching the ledge tightly with his fingers, Metal Sabre prevented his plummet to certain doom. Unfortunately, he only delayed what was to be inevitable. Lord Baxtor stood upon the ledge of the window, looking down at Metal Sabre with an evil grin.

Say hello to your grandfather, since I am sending you to the afterlife, just as I did to him, the evil tyrant said with a sneer, before swinging his heel into Metal Sabres face, hard. Metal Sabres grip failed, and he fell to the ground below, into the open arms of death.

6. Resurrection?
Metal Sabre's eyes opened to what he assumed was the afterlife. He was quite surprised to find that his surroundings seemed very familiar. In fact, it was the enchanted forest of Karchan. How he arrived back in the land, or even remained alive, he had no idea. Upon reaquainting himself with the land, Metal Sabre found that much time had passed since his departure, and apparent death; many of his old friends, and guilds, were no longer around. One day, Metal Sabre did find a famaliar face; torko, the Teal Knight of Karchan. torko explained to Metal Sabre that he was planning on rebuilding the Knights of Karchan, and offered Metal Sabre the chance to finally realize his dream, and become a Knight of Karchan. Metal Sabre accepted without hesitation, becoming the Azure Knight of Courage, using Sir Estlor's old Knight color to pay homage to his mentor. Metal Sabre also soon took on a squire, Alicyn, who was recently promoted to Knighthood. Upon his Knighting, Metal Sabre worked hard to keep the land safe. He completely shunned his personal life in order to protect the land, his Knightly duties put above all else. This became quite a dilemna when Jasmine returned, proclaiming to still love Metal Sabre. Though Metal Sabre could not deny still having feelings for Jasmine as well, he knew that he would only shun her, as he did before, for his duties as a hero.

Metal Sabre recently took another leave from the land, hearing that the situation in Drel had not changed any in his absence. In fact, since Lord Baxter was the only surviving ruler of Drel's first rebellion, he no longer spent the majority of his time arguing with the other lords, and was able to make the citizens of Drel even more miserable. Upon returning to Drel, Metal Sabre attempted to sneak in and finish the revolt he began before his "death". Somehow, Lord Baxter had been aware of Metal Sabre's every move, and easily captured the Knight. As a way of thanking Metal Sabre for eliminating all of the other lords, Baxter told Metal Sabre that he would give him the opportunity to fight for his life. Metal Sabre would face three of Drel's fiercest warriors, one right after the other. Were he to defeat them all, Metal Sabre would have the chance to leave Drel with his life. After a trio of hard-fought battles, Metal Sabre bestest all three of Baxter's warriors, then called the Lord himself out. Baxter of course refused, but Metal Sabre taunted the tyrant, asking the soldiers and spectators how they liked having a coward for the leader. Finally, Lord Baxter was goaded into battling due to Metal Sabre's verbal assault. Baxter and Metal Sabre fought, though it could hardly be considered a fair fight. Not only was Metal Sabre physically drained from his past three matches, but Baxter seemed to be aided by some sort of magic as well. The Azure Knight persevered though, and after a hard fought battle, Metal Sabre amazingly managed to overcome Lord Baxter. After his defeat, Metal Sabre refused to slay the evil man, but Lord Baxter attempted to attack him from behind, and Metal Sabre was left with no choice but to murder the tyrant. Metal Sabre, though exhausted, challenged any one else who would stand in his way of freeing the kingdom. Not a single person stepped forward. In fact, upon the overthrowing of Lord Baxter's rule, the inhabitants of Drel insisted that Metal Sabre take the throne as their king. He was the prince of Drel at one time, and it was his rightful position. Metal Sabre politely declined though, saying the life of a King does not suit him, and began the journey back to Karchan. Though before leaving, he vowed to always come to Drel's aid, should they ever require it.

Currently, Metal Sabre remains the Azure Knight of Karchan, ever vigilant against the forces of evil, while also doing his best to protect his birthplace of Drel. He spends ever waking moment battling evil, and helping the good of Kuri in any way he can. He is truly one of Kuri's greatest heroes, and will continue to be so until his dying breath.
