The Structure and Responsibilities of the New Republic Government
Chief of State
The Chief of State is a very precious position and is, up to now, given for a lifetime. Normally not interfering into the day-to-day politics, the COS still may veto all decisions done by the parts of the government and the military forces and override any order given. For doing so, the COS may only be held responsible by the Senate.
The Inner Circle
The Inner Circle is named by the Chief of State. The Inner Circle consists at least out of the two Councillors, the Jedi Grand Master and the Commander in Chief. Their only legeslative power on its own is, to hand out medals. Their real power is hidden in their right, to have access to the Chief of State all the time.
Government
The two Councillors of the New Republic are elected by the Senate. Their decisions must be done cummulative, because each of them may counterorder the decisions of the other. The Councillors have no legeslative period, they are elcted as long they have enough backup in the senate. Together, they name the members of the administration, the Ministers of the Republic and the High Comissioners, that act as representative for their Minister. Proposing them, the Senate still have to elect them - so, this moments normally act as barometer for the backup a councillor still has in the senate.
 
Senate
The Senate consists out of two person per member world of the New Republic. Its the most powerfull body in the New Republic. They decide on laws, elect and dismiss the COS, the Councillors and vote on the Ministers, the High Comissioners and the Commander in Chief. They decide on the budget. Starting as Ambassadors, Envoys or Mignons of a system. Experienced politicians are honoured by the rank of Senator.
