The Kalidor Crescent is the highest medal of the Old and the New Republic. Only few persons ever had been granted the right to wear it. It is restricted to those, who commited an act of major bravery and saved the life and freedom for countless peoples. Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacka had been the last three heros to recieve this honorous award.
 

The Battle Medal is a medal signifying excellence in an Imperial confrontation, either by ship or by planet.

For the Consolidation Area it was handed out for the Fest Battle , Horthav Battle , Briggia Battle.

Commendation Medal

The Commendation Medal is given for action above and beyond the call of duty.

The commendation medal is known to be handed out for numerous reasons and sometimes more than once to an officer.

Quick Response

The Quick Reponse Medal is given to Officers who carry out orders in a timely fashion. It is very important in battle situations.

Valor Medal

The Valor Medal is given to those who give their lives for the cause of justice.

As an act of public grief, the valor medal was handed to the relatives of the soldiers that has fallen in the line of duty or where missing in action.

The Kill Medal is given to those officers who contribute to an Imperial Ship's destruction.

Beeing considered a kind of artifact of the times of supression and guerilla tactic, the kill medal was never handed out in the Consolidation Area.

Bravery

The Bravery medal is given to those who commit an especially courageous act.

Capture Medal

The Capture medal is given to those who help in the Capture of an enemy ship .

The very limited ressources, the need of technical  knowledge and the policy of waging life higher than everything else led to a priority of capturing instead of destroying enemy ships. Although the empire insanely prefered destroying their own ships before letting them captured, the New Republic succeded from time to time and those ships had always been a precious gem for the research and development department as well as the intelligence department.

Excellence

The Excellence medal is given to those who do especially well in battle.

The NRRD medal is a distinction given to those in the Research and Development Department.

As the Empire was most of the time more than only one step in front of the New Republic in research and developement, many officers in the navy made additional technical courses and kept close contact to the scientific teams, to fastly straighten out technical grievances. To award those, the NRRD medal was invented.
 

NR Intelligence

The NR Intelligance Medal is a distinction given to those in the NR Intelligence Department.

Command Medal

The Command Medal is given to those in the Command Positions.

This medal seems to be awkward, as nowadays any command personel is recognized at their insignias and their power is directly and only related to their position. In the Consolidation Area, the New Republic Forces represented the federational character and many different ranks and uniforms had been worn. Hence the command medal  made it easy to recognize command personal even in federal units.

Jedi Medal

The Jedi Medal is a distinction given to those who follow the Jedi ways.
