The "Flechette" Missile, was designed specifically
for the Kwing Heavy Assault Bomber. It's advanced targeting system, allowed
for it too be able too hit and destroy moving targets as well as stationary
targets. But the, why design a new fighter just for a targetting system.
No, the Kwing Heavy Assault Bomber needed a newer explosive projectile,
that would not hinder the Kwing as the Concussion or Proton torpedo launchers,
and tropedoes would, it longed for something sleeker, more powerful. The
Result was the Flechette missile, and it's own launcher. This missile was
more powerful than the proton torpedo giving it the element of surprise,
with it's damage ratio. But the sleeker designed also allowed for the Flechette
missile to hit atmospheric and surface targets with relative ease, giving
the New Republic a surprise advantage int he battles to come.
