| Aye, fight and you may die, run and you'll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!!" -Sir William Wallace |

| The land was shadowed with swift dark clouds,Moving silently and stealthily in the sky, She tearfully uttered one last hopeful breath, But rescue was too late as the figure rode up, His soft blue eyes now danced with fire, For he saw her lieing there,And the barbaric English killers grinning, he knew then that he must fight for his love and for his people's freedom, And that the dark day was just the beginning. That day he vowed to fight the English for her and Scotland He rallied hundreds of Scottish patriots with a will to fight, Who would fight forever and to their death to be free, Although greatly outnumbered they fought their first real battle, And ended up forcing the English thousands to flee. With triumph and strength dancing in their brave hearts, And their swords raised triumphantly in the sky, As they sent forth their battle cry. But Wallace's heart and soul would not rest, Until his quest for freedom was finished. but Wallace was betrayed,And bound by shackle and chain. The hour came for William to die And he listened to the townspeople laugh and cheer. But he tearfully suffered through and held fast to The dream of freedom he held so dear. As the king uttered his last few breaths Wallacegave up his life for the sake of his country And shouted "FREEDOM" with all his might. Yet in the name of Wallace his men fought one last time At Bannockburn's vast green plain. They fought starving and outnumbered but finally won their freedom forever.. Never to be ruled over again.. Wallace, the Bruce and Scotland's brave lost souls Now watch over their homeland in the skies together. |

| King Edward raised his standard high,Bruce shook his banners in replyEach army shouts for victoryUpon the Field of Bannockburn. The English horse wi' deadly aimUpon the Scottish army came; But hundrteds in our pits were slainUpon the Field of Bannockburn. Loud rose the war cry of Cameron,Who flew like tigers to the fieldAnd made the Sass'nach army feelThere were dauntless hearts at Bannockburn.M'Donald's clan, how firm their paceDark vengeance gleams in ev'ry face,Lang had they thirsted to embraceTheir Sass'nach friends at Bannockburn. The Douglass bold his brave clan led,While wide their thistle banners spreadThey boldly fell and boldly bledUpon the Field of Bannockburn. The clans off far and near through there weight apon the Field of Bannockburn, And with blood running with the fire of the clan That day King Edward's heart did mourn,With joy each Scottish heart did burn,In mem'ry now let us returnOur thanks to Bruce at Bannockburn. |

| To Scottish friends I lift a glass To you, who've kept alive The memory of heroes past Across dark moors of time To you who know this simple truth And show it near and far It is the tales we tell ourselves That make us who we are! So let us drink to Scotland fair It's sorrow and it's solace And lift our glasses in the air To you and William Wallace And to the clan that bears his name My sisters and my brothers I'd rather be a man in your eyes Than a king in any others!
