A need to be free

Runs through my body,

My heart and my soul.

To be free from the constraints

That have held me back

For an entire lifetime.

To be free of the nightmares

That have haunted my sleep

Night after endless night.

To be free of the conditions

I have placed upon myself

Trying to make everyone else happy.

To be free of the self doubt

That has flooded my existence

Since I was old enough to think.

A desire to be loved

For everything that I am

Clouds over all the negativity.

A release of my fears

Has slowly just begun…
