my head lay against

the hardness of the window

as i stared out

and watched the land

underneath me

grow further and further

away within seconds

my eyes slowly changed

from dark blue to bright green

filled with tears and sorrow

my heart full of pain

my entire body ached

as a song played in my ears

forever engraved inside me

i dreamed that in my flights delay

i would see your face, one last time

round the corner and hold me tight

and apologize for leaving me alone

but you never came, you never called

you never held me close

you never said goodbye

i knew the last time i heard you say

i miss you and i love you

that i would never hear them again

and when you said, please don't hate me

i knew you meant you were leaving

that things had changed, somehow

i just wish you could see

that they didn't for me.
