I clench my eyes tight

the pain just writhes inside

I toss and turn in my slumber

never ending nightmares

my body shakes endlessly

 

I want to wake up

for this to all be over

return to my happy

collected little world

with light and sunshine

and no more pain

 

Where you are near me

to comfort me

where I can smell you

laying on the bed next to me

holding me close

my security, my serenity

 

I pinch myself

and my eyes water

as I realize

that this is no nightmare

this suffering

is my reality
