Two Shia activists shot dead by bike riders in Shah Faisal Colony

KARACHI, March 11: Bike riders assassinated two
leaders of Tehrik-e-Jafria Pakistan, Anwar Tirmizi and Zulfiquar
Haider, outside their residence in Shah Faisal Colony.
Sources said Tirmizi was frontline leader of TJP
while Haider was former Councillor of Muttahida Qaumi Movement. A
witnesses Zulfiquar said they were standing outside their house
4/1001, KDA Road near Khokhar Club when bike riders opened fire
killing them on the spot.
Tension gripped the area following the incident. In
yet another firing incident, riders of a motorbike killed a cop
Faiz-ul-Islam and wounded another constable, Naimat, deputed near Bund
No V of Malir, within Korangi Industrial Area. Sources said that the
cops had signalled two riders of a motorbike to stop who came close
and started firing on them. Cop Faiz died on the spot while his
colleague Naimat was wounded and was rushed to JPMC.
