Isfahan Haider shot dead in his shop in North Nazimabad

KARACHI, April 9: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead in North Nazimabad on Tuesday. Police said two unidentified assailants, riding on a motorcycle, fired on Isfahan Haider, aged 37, near Zehra Centre in North Nazimabad.
He was sitting in his shop at Hyderi Market when he was fired upon. Her was hit by a single bullet in the chest, and rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Isfahan Haider was a former member of the party's sector committee. His funeral prayers were offered at Masjid-o-Imambargah Babul at eleven in the night. A large number of people gathered outside the emergency ward at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Police said the dead man was resident of Ali Daulat Square in Block-G in North Nazimabad. He got married two months back. After the killing tension griped the area and shopkeepers pulled their shutters down.
