GUJRANWALA, Feb 22: A noted lawyer and district president of Tehrik-i-Jafria Pakistan, Ghulam Shabbir Chohan, was shot dead by two terrorists, riding a motorcycle in Thenewal Bazaar on Thursday.

Mr Chohan, 65, was on his way home carrying some breakfast articles. Near the Kotwali police station, one of the accused opened fire, killing him on the spot. The assassins fled.

The shopkeepers closed their business to protest the killing. Mr Chohan leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and two sons. He was a member of the district peace committee.
