KARACHI July 20 2001: Unknown assailants gunned down an employee of the commissioner's office in Lines Area on Friday. Mushtaq Haidar, 30, a clerk at the commissioner's office, was cleaning his motorbike outside his house in Khudadad Colony before leaving for his job, when two armed men riding a motorbike appeared, opened fire on him and fled.

Neighbours rushed to the scene, found Mushtaq lying seriously wounded and took him to the JPMC. They also informed police. The victim breathed his last on the way to the hospital. Mushtaq was father of three children and Salar-e-Dasta of a Matami Anjuman of a religious group.
