FAISALABAD, Feb 18: Two brothers and their driver were shot dead in a sectarian-motivated attack on the Liaquat Road, just 100-feet away from the district police lines here on Sunday night.

Hassan Raza and Mohammad Raza with their driver, Sakhiur Rehman, were reportedly on their way home by a car (FDW-7212). Two motorcyclists who were pursuing them, opened indiscriminate fire, killing them on the spot and fled the scene.

The slain brothers were running a free dispensary-cum-hospital (Hussainia) near the Chiniot Bazaar.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of the administration, a number of madressahs have been closed besides shifting students to unknown places for precautionary measures by their managements.

The police commandos have also been deployed on all sensitive imambargahs and mosques.

When contacted, the district police chief, Tassaduq Hussain, said the victims were not active members of the Tehreek-i-Jafria Pakistan.

He expressed the hope that the assassins would be arrested within the next 24 hours.
