Another Shia killed in Orangi Town

KARACHI July 14, 2001: Sindh President of Tehreek-e-Jafria Pakistan, Allama Hassan Turabi has condemned the murder of Javed Shirazi in Orangi Town. Turabi said: "Killing of law-abiding citizens will bring about frustration, fear and sense of deprivation among citizens." He said the government agencies and administration failed in controlling the situation and arresting killers of innocent people and appealed to the Corps Commander to take personal interest to curb terrorist activities.

PROTEST: Local TJP leaders held a protest demonstration outside Jamia Noor-ul-Eeman Nazimabad against the murder of Shirazi. Maulana Kamran Haider Abidi, Maulana Ali Abbas and Maulana Sheikh Lateef demanded of the government to improve the law and order situation. The TJP announced to hold another demo on Sunday.

HYDERABAD: TJP rally against sectarian killings

HYDERABAD July 18,2001: Dozens of activists of Tahreek-e-Jafria Pakistan staged a protest demonstration in front of the press club here against sectarian killings in the country, especially in Karachi. The TJP workers were carrying banners, demanding of the government to take note of the activities of a particular party and stop its workers from carrying out killings of TJP workers. Provincial leader of TJP Allama Altaf Hussain Al-Hussaini, Nizamul Hyderi, Mushtaq Kalhoro and others spoke on the occasion. They alleged that the group which killed the chief of Sunni Tahreek Saleem Qadri was also involved in the murders of TJP leaders. They added that the group was also rejected by other religious groups due to its terrorist activities.
