KARACHI: The
Anti-Terrorist Wing (ATW) of Sindh Police has arrested an
accused affiliated with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and allegedly
involved in over 15 high-profile sectarian terrorist
strikes during last four years, police said on Monday.
Accused Dildar Hussain, alias Dilawar, and his accomplice
Shehzad Maqsood aka Munna, were nabbed from Aurangabad,
Nazimabad, they added. The accused allegedly told police
that he was involved in killing of:
Two Iranian engineers at the time of construction of Clifton flyover
Nine people at Fajr prayers in Imambargah Hur in Al-Falah police limits
Gunned down Dr Sajjid in Korangi
Shopkeeper Mehboob Ali in Sharafi Goth
Dr Saeed Bashir Ali in Quaidabad
Advocate Waqar Naqvi near Medicare Hospital
Sardar Jafri advocate in Gulshan
DSP Sadiq Shah and his son in Al-Falah
Dr Sibtain Dosa and three
others in Kharadar
Besides several other sectarian
killings in the city.
The city police chief DIG Tariq
Jamil, along with the ATW chief DSP Farooq Awan,
addressed a press conference at the ATW offices. However,
Dildar was not produced before the journalists.
