NOWSHERA: A prominent
Shia leader sustained bullet injuries when fired at by
two people in a busy street here, police sources said on
Monday. Pesh Imam and Khatib of Central Imambargah Ali
Masjid in Nowshera, Ali Sarwar Sarhadi, who received
bullet injuries in the head. He is stated to be in a
stable condition. "He can even talk," said
sources at the Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital (LRH),
where he was shifted late on Monday evening. Hailing from
Kohat, Ali Sarwar also teaches at Government High School
No 1 Nowshera Cantonment. Police sources said raids on
different places resulted in the arrest of a
Sipah-e-Sahaba (SSP) activist, identified as Nadeem. The
police officials were, however, not clear about the
motive of firing at the Shia leader. Sources said that
Ali Sarwar was fired at in Khushhal Colony area at 1:00
pm, while he was walking towards his house.
