MULTAN, Nov 30: The Tehrik-i-Jafria Pakistan has urged the chief executive of the country and the IG police to order removal of a DSP from service besides recovery of Rs2.2 million from him which he took as bribe.

In his appeal, TJP Senior Vice-President Gulzar Naqvi alleged that DSP Habib Khan after accepting bribe had distorted investigation reports of two cases of sectarian killings of Muzaffagarh district in which 23 people were killed.

He further alleged that after extorting Rs800,000 and Rs1.4 million in two cases, the DSP declared the nominated accused innocent and released them.

In Mondka town case, the TJP nominated two terrorists namely Shah Nawaz and Abbas in two cases registered under sections 302, 109 and 34-PPC. But the then CIA inspector Habib Ahmad declared them innocent in his inquiry report. Later, the inspector managed to get promoted as DSP.

The Karam Dad Qureshi case was also referred to Habib Ahmad who again declared three of the nominated accused - Habibullah Qureshi, Sharif and Imdadullah Nasir - innocent, reportedly after taking a bribe of Rs1.4 million.

The TJP leadership lodged a complaint with the then Muzaffargarh SP who referred the complaint to the Dera Ghazi Khan DIG. Upon this, Habib Ahmad was suspension and a departmental inquiry was assigned to the Rajanpur SP. The victim parties and the TJP provided proofs against the DSP, including a report by the special branch SSP which had confirmed the allegations of distorting the case, but he was reinstated and posted as CIA DSP.
