Dorothy's Pearls

A Song Lyric/Poem

She's a strange kind of lady,
Not really one of the girls.
She hangs out with flamboyant boys,
And lends them Dorothy's pearls.

Dorothy has pearls of wisdom,
They have seen a life;
Night after night, getting tight,
A somewhat undutiful wife.

She plays with those flamboyant boys,
The Pianists and the drunks,
The 'c' listed celebrities,
The (r)aging queens and punks.

She clicks her ruby slippers
And brings them all back home.
They sing and drink the night away
At the Duchesses salon.

In the morning, she makes breakfast
And they find she's a married dame.
She sorts their haircuts and bedclothes
And still she plays their game.

But when they are in trouble
Or cock ups come home to roost,
She'll asuage their guilt, ease their pain
And give (their) egos a boost.

She's a strange kind of lady,
Not really one of the girls.
She hangs out with flamboyant boys,
And lends them Dorothy's pearls.
