4 Days 3 Nights School Holiday Trip To Phuket Island On 29TH Thursday, May’2008  

The group members consists of 3 families KC Poh family ( husband & wife and two daughters), HC Lim family (husband & wife and 4 daughters) and my family (husband & wife and one daughter one son) which are 6 adults 8 children.

          

First Day

The group met out at my home and we started our journeys at about 8.30pm. Our first stop is at CTC money changer shop at Changlun, we had to change some thai bahts, filled up passport documents, bought car insurance and had light meal for breakfast. After we passed through the both side immigration procedures and we proceed the journey. We stopped at Khong Gae to have chicken rice, there are 2 shop over there and we decided to has the meal at the first shop which their country prime minister (Thaksin) visited .   

Initially our trip was to Krabi and when we reached the destination we changed our plan to Phuket Island. The changes of plan decision was made during our lunch when we reached Krabi town. We though we has not to see during the night at Krabi town.

And for our lunch we has mainly local typical thai foods such as tom yam, papaya salad, khai thord (fried chicken), salted vegies fried with pork meat and some others dishes for children. After the lunch we cruised around the sea side and Krabi town before we continues our journey.

Our first stop to filled up our cars petrol at Thap Put town which our cars had fully filled up at the border petrol kiosk before entering Thailand. This is the town where you passed you immediately need to take right turn to Phanga town or else you will using swirling and mountainous road to Phanga town.

We managed to reached Phuket Island around 5.00pm and we headed to Patong Beach to find the place to stay. We went to Aloha Villa where our previous company trip stayed in. After we checked at the reception any room available and negotiated the rate with the general manager we got a reasonable price and we checked in for two night. 

We had to washed up and went out for dinner and also arranging for tomorrow trip to Phi Phi Island. 

Second Day

The trip was arranged by the local tour agent opposite the hotel and was picked up early in the morning to the port to berth the boat. When we reached the port we signed in and light breakfast are served. The tour guard briefs us things that we can do and things that we cannot do before we boards the boat. There are some passages with us during the trip to the island, the total passages inclusive us around 65 persons.

It took roughly 45 minutes to reached our first stopped is at Maya Bay, is a sandy white beach with sand fine. The water was crystal clear where you can seen fishes swimming around you or even bits your leg. When we reached the place the weather was cloudy and small rain here and there. We had half an hour here and we leaving to others destination, we cruised through few island and one of the island cliff wall was destroyed by the Tsunami. It also pass through few beaches where one of the beaches was filmed in the movie "The Beach" and also a cave where the ancient time the Viking privates stayed in. In the cave where you can see drawings drawn by the Viking people at the cave wall but now it was restricted from entering the cave due to rearing of bird nest. We reached a spot for snorkeling where you can seen a lot of beautiful corals, colorful sea plants and many types of fishes even memo.

We decided to cancelled the trip to the Phi Phi Island port for sight seeing and instant to go for lunch on the other island about 25 minutes. The island was called Koh Khai a small isolated island, fine sandy white beach, huge natural formation rock at one side, a mini bar and three atap huts where the buffet lunch was served. We completed our lunch and the kids was excited to go swimming or snorkeling and we was given free 5 hours.                 

Time to leave it took 30 minutes to reached the port from the island. When we reached our hotel we quickly washed up and went to Karon beach to watched sun set. But unfortunately the weather was not good, you can only seen the cloudy at the end of the sea. The cloudy had blocked the sun goes down. We headed to Phuket town for dinner and we managed to found a chinese shop for our meal. 

We had trouble getting out from the Phuket town, after several attempts turning right and left turn out at the same place. Had no choice but to ask for direction and the man said go straight after the traffic light turned right. Further up you were came up a T-junction against turned right and you were manage to found the Patong Beach sign.        

Reached hotel went straight away to bed and ready for tomorrow activity elephant ride.

 

Third Day

Today itinerary starts at 8.30am met at the hotel lobby and began the visits to Wat Chalong. We had our breakfast at nearby stall which served local cook noodle. We went around the temple and headed to our next destination which is the elephant ride at Island Safari about 20 minutes drive from the temple. The ride took 45 minutes to finished and after that elephant shown, where the audients can participants the events.

We had our lunch first before we went in the Phuket Aquarium. I noticed that the Phuket Aquarium old sign board had not exist any more because was destroyed by the tsunami. The aquarium was fully air-conditioner and had a short under world tunnel.

From the aquarium we had to goes back the same road to passed through Rawai Beach to Promthep Cape. Promthep Cape is a place where people flocks to see the sun set at the end of the sea. But we are slight early there and we had not chances to watch the sunset so we hanged around the place and had baked coconut drink. We still had long way back to the hotel with swirling and mountainous roads.

Dinner at Aloha Villa restaurant which special arrangement from the hotel general manager. Shopping around Patong Beach.

 

Fourth Day

Checked out at 8.30am and using the coastal road journey back passed through Kamala, Surin Beaches and came out at Tha Ruea town. At Tha Ruea town you can found the Heroines Monument is situated at the centre of the road round about. We filled our car petrol and this was our second fill. We had to u-turn back to opposite side of the road to had our can said lunch because we been searching a place to eat along the way from the hotel until here. Lunch with roasted pork, chicken and duck meats similarly to chicken rice type.   

Stopped at Blue Canyon Golf & Country Club had few photos taken at the club and continues our journey back. Reached Krabi and had proceed to Trang and before we reach Trang there is a sign board shown to Pak Meng Beach. Pak Meng beach is a typical malay community place where mostly of them are Muslim. Stopped at the beach we had some drinks and ikan bakar. The beach are wide not sandy but are slightly muddy.

After passed through Trang town we reached Phattalung town, we had to reach Hatyai town before dark so that the shop are closed to buy the water sprinkle nozzle. Anyhow we managed to brought it. And We had our seafood dinner at the big market. As usual we stopped at Danok for last minutes shopping and reached home 11.30pm.
