As the thunder kicks in
and the rain falls from the sky
you can see her run to dance in it
as the tears make puddles in her eyes.
She has danced here to forget
and she has danced to let them go
but this time she has come to dance
to fill the emptiness that is in her soul.
She has overcome the broken hearts
and most of the way past the fear
the emptiness that is inside of her now
is because he cant be here.
As she turns around in circles
she closes her eyes and she sees
the love they could be sharing between them
and she falls to the ground and weeps.
In a ball she sits there all alone
letting the rain fall on her and run through
I know I will get to him someday she says
if I keep doing what I have to do.
She stands and she wipes her face off
she rings the water from her hair
with her eyes filled with such confusion
she looks at the sky above and stares.
Her eyes do not blink as the rain still falls
there is lightning flashing through the sky
you can tell that she is praying
another tear falls from her eye.
She raises her arms to the heavens
and begins to dance in circles one more time
one more for my sweetheart she thinks
as she turns to go inside.
Dripping wet and shaking
she pours herself a drink
and after taking all her wet clothes off
she cuddles in a blanket to think.
She grabs her pen and paper
and drifts off into thoughts
she doesn't realize she is crying again
in her eyes she just looks lost.
She snaps back to reality
wiping her face off once again
she begins to write him a letter
letting her heart flow through her pen.
